Hi I am new to this forum and a prospective H2 purchaser.
I was wandering if there are any H2 users in Australia on this forum as I would like to make contact to find out how the H2 experience has been and to discover the best place to make a purchase as after sales support is important to me,
I live in Melbourne and upgrading from a Creality CR10S.
Pretty good from Sydney 9

I’m in Canberra, and one would assume that the experience with these machines is the same world wide (except some countries have terrible couriers) and the really only place to by them is direct from Bambu themselves. I have 5 printers all up from Bambu and have not yet needed any after sales support.
Actually, if you’re in Canberra you better buy from 3DBRO (for Syd & Can), and if you’re in Melbourne there is another officila reseller as well. Both are providing quite good shipping and services. Prices are the same as the official store, but they come with extra filaments usually
Thanks for your response!
Good to hear the Bambu machines have performed well.
After running an X1C for nearly 3 years trouble free, bought an H2D about 2 months ago. It did have a problem with the left nozzles heater which was replaced under warranty. About 200 hours on it so far, all in ABS
smart move to get something where you can get local support. I just bought H2S and its got some issue i cant resolve with teh standard procedures. now waiting 3 days for Bambu support to look into it!
You still get bambu standard support in most cases, but these resellers are usually very experienced and can provide important info for those who’s not familiar with the issues.
FWIW, I’m just south of Melbourne and bought my H2D directly from BL-AU (350hrs) X1C and Mini too). I’ve had mixed experiences with resellers. I’ve been very happy with BL Tech support for these 3.5yrs. For me, they bring technical knowledge and factory supported solutions. It’s been my experience that technical problem solving can be a journey of discovery with some trial and error
. The BL tech support people I’ve worked with were patient and stuck with me through to each problem’s solution (for free). I get that you might prefer someone to just fix it. I prefer to try myself as opposed to bring the machine to someone then waiting for them to get to it.
You still get the BL Tech support even if you buy from resellers.
It’s more like that if you buy from authorised resellers, you get more instead of “this or that”, choosing between support channels.
Thanks for that, I’d never heard of them, when I buy a H2S, I’ll go pick it up on the day. I’m in Canberra.
Bambu just expanded their reseller/dealership network in aus quite recently, so now most major cities would have their reseller.
Hi Thanks for your encouraging response. I am also on the edge of purchasing a H2D but still doing due diligence on what is a very complex design. I had a look at a demo H2D at Cubic technology where I buy me eSun filaments and was very impressed with both build quality and the test piece it produced. I m happy to purchase through this dealer who advises none of the machines he has sold have given problems. Just wondering if a 2 year warranty is a worthwhile investment as I see the dual head as a likely point of failure. I live in Ivanhoe.
depending on the price. how much does the extended warranty cost?
I’ve not had any problems in 300hrs+ with my H2D aside from a nozzle error that resolved itself when I reseated it. I would be tempted to buy the simpler H2S saving enough to buy a couple more AMS units as rarely use two nozzles on a part. Yes, I use a second filament for support interfaces similar to the one nozzle as in my X1-C, it just takes a bit longer to swap filaments. What I find much more valuable is having more AMS units. I have 4 for each printer as I want to keep my usual filaments in the dry and ready to print. I regularly switch between PETG, PC and ABS with occasionally PA-CF in the mix. So, Black, Gray, White and Transparent for each plus a couple of colors in PLA and PETG; slots fill up.
You mentioned extended warranty. Makes sense but I would encourage you to have a go as looking at the wiki and technical support. The hard part is figuring out the problem but I’ve found tech support to be both patient and knowledgeable. The actual repair is usually as simple a turning a screw driver or the hex key equivalent.
3d printing for me regularly involves figuring out something that didn’t go as I expected. Build plate cleanliness, filament dryness, actual model design to avoid/minimize supports even actual fit/size when you are looking to assemble things. So figuring out what went wrong and how to fix or improve it is part of the game. Those same skills get applied to printer problems. You’ll be surprised and so happy with yourself when you sort something out…
Kspear some good advice there and appreciate your interest.
I agree that 3D printing is very much a hands on pursuit. And no as an electronics engineer and IT professional I am not looking for a shrink wrapped white appliance experience(!).
ut I do expect at the price point the H2D to perform well and provide an enjoyable out of the box experience. And preferably require a lot less babysitting than I have to do with my legacy Crealtyt 10S.
As a newcomer to Bambu Lab its taken a while to get the feel of the product, BL support and the benefits of the BL eco system which I increasingly appreciate its just a matter of final choice.
However with the H2C on the horizon and a few people suggesting the H2D price will drop just before release, I am questioning whether now is a good time to buy or hedge?
Incidentally my local dealer indicated the H2S was outselling the H2D by a fair margin. It does offer simplicity and a more attractive price point and I suspect potentially better reliability in the long term.
Who knows the H2C may offer an incredibly compelling upgrade and be worth the wait.
