From what i read before there was supposed to come a firmware ‘later this year’ that would enable the use of bird eye camera on the non-laser version with the cutter upgrade?
I bought the full kit, but have not used it much because unless i am using full sheets the placement of the materials is too much guessing for me 
I have not been very active here in the forum lately, but i did a search for bird eye camera in this forum and only got 2 very old results that was not relevant… so anyone knows more? Maybe talked to the support about it recently? I was going to ask them myself but decided to try here first.

While Bambu Lab made an extensive list of promises when they launched the H2D that they have yet to fulfill, it would certainly be a pleasant surprise if they delivered this time. However, their track record suggests otherwise.

I got tired of waiting, sold the cutting kit and bought a Cricut Joy instead (basically same price).
I have H2D full laser but I mainly use my dedicated plotter/cutter since it grips my material with static force instead of sticky plates. Can cut thinner material without strugling to get it off the plate 
Not sure why, the cricut joy does not do more than the cutting kit without the camera, less actually and smaller size.
Ich bin da ganz deiner Meinung. Wirklich schade, dass bambu seine Kunden mit ihren hervorragenden Druckern, durch die Vernachlässigung der Software uns im Regen stehen lassen, das wird für sie in absehbarer Zeit nach hinten losgehen.
The cutting kit for me did not work at all.
All the cuts were misaligned even after calibration etc.
And worse of all, my 3D printer couldn’t print while I had it setup for cutting (obviously).
Separating the function was better for me.

I was unfortunately in the same boat. Purchased the cutting upgrade kit for the H2S simply had the gift cards to pay for it so why not. After playing with it I was most definitely intrigued and wanted more, obviously Bambu Lab failed to deliver a seem-less experience at launch but more of an utter-failure since it’s really really stupid to even use the kit without any form of image localization feature (which just about any cutting machine has built in)
Does it work? - Yes, but doesn’t mean it works “good”.
As of (12/26/2025) I noticed the small statement regarding the future firmware update for birdseye camera calibration with Cutting Module Kit, isn’t there on the US webpage anymore which could hint at the update coming real quick. I talked myself into getting the Laser upgrade so it’s not a bother anymore but it is very lame to have even waited this long for something very simple. I have doubts the rotary attachment and fire suppression system will be making their debut ANY time soon…
Let’s not forget it had taken Bambu Lab almost 3+ years to activate their advertised feature on the X1 series via a firmware update… The “Door Sensor” was on the X1 page since its initial release and literally came out after the 2nd gen GUI update.

The fire suppression kit isn’t available until the 30th, but we have confirmation with that at least.
Still got yet to wait for rotary module though
Edit: at least we know it WILL come, since there’s a 4-pin cable inlet in the inside of the H2 machines. There’s no way Bambu’s just gonna ignore it forever. The 2 4-pin cable inlets on the outside of the machine being for the air filter and the fire suppression system.
Its also not compatible with H2C for some reason. Probably cuz H2C’s firmware is still in test phase I think…

Also, for your other comment, is there a cutting mat for the H2D made by 3rd party that does not have the sticky adhesive on it? That stuff is a pain to work with.

I’m not sure about that. I use a Silhouette Curio 2 for most of my cutting, as it uses static electricity to keep the material firmly secured to the cutting bed.
Personally, I would rather see a rotary engraver feature than a fire extinguisher system, but that’s just my preference. I never leave my lasers unattended anyway.

However, at the rate they’re releasing new models—they pushed out 5 different machines in 2025 alone—I’m genuinely concerned they might discontinue the H2D before they even get around to releasing the rotary module. If they keep up this pace next year, maintaining spare parts and support for all these models is going to become increasingly difficult.
I’d rather see them focus their energy on fixing existing issues in both hardware and firmware before rushing to develop yet another new product.

Ok so. Couple months earlier I was crying here on the forums about that exact thing. Too many models coming out, support being dropped as witnessed with the drooling prime tower “hotfix disquished as a full FW update” and you people kept mocking me that companies do it all the time and no support was dropped. Now I see the exact same people who made fun of my words, repeat my actual words.
What changed?

Ok cool. So given their adherence to ETAs (as observed with the fire extinquisher and the rotary tool, we can safely say its gonna be here late december 2026 to february 2027

The fire extinguisher has been available for some time now in EU and in UK (less the tank due to regulations). It’s not in the US though if that’s your location.
