HI all, I have an X1C and love it for how simple it is to use as I don’t want to tinker anymore than I need to. That is why I bought it over the Prusa XL. I was excited for their next release, and am considering getting the H2D still, but was disappointed as I had hoped they were going to do a multi-toolhead like Prusa does. A printer with a larger print volume, multi toolheads like the Prusa xl, combined with the AMS and all the features of a BL would be the bees knees. Do we know if there is any chance of that happening any time soon?
There’s a picture circulating of a print on a Bambu printer that is neither a H2D or X1C/E or P1 or A1. So probably, yeah. A H1D that doesn’t have all the extra baggage for the laser cutter and pen plotter, just a bigger printer with two printheads. Maybe. Hopefully.
wonder how long before we’d see it.
It sounds like the Prusa XL ticks all your checkboxes
I don’t think we will see a direct competitor to the Prusa XL. Production numbers wouldn’t fit their business strategy.
I think having faster multi-color/material printing with less waste ticks most peoples boxes lol.
Absolutely, but dual nozzle can already be had with the H2D. I don’t believe that they will bring a printer soon with even bigger build envelope and even more nozzles. It would be quite a bit more expensive than the H2D, so the target group becomes smaller.
I think they will bring an update for either the X1C or the P1S next, maybe with dual nozzle but smaller volume, less bells and whistles and at a lower price.
Someone mentioned the bondtech indx which is supposed to release later this year, though I’m not sure what actual printers they can be used with. I’m debating waiting for that instead of the h2d. Then again I have like 800 dollars in BB gift cards I could put towards the h2d lol.
Truth be told I don’t need any of this, I just tend to like to buy the best of the gadgets that I’m into. I have the X1C and haven’t’ used anything more exotic than ASA on it, but I like the idea of being able to. I’ve printed a lot of cosplay stuff for fun and that’s where the multicolor intrigues me. I could get the H2D and then have two printers which will make multi plate prints faster and things that needs support or multicolor a little faster in the H2D. Maybe I’ll come up with an idea for something to sell then having two high end printers will be nice. It’s always a decision process for me when buying stuff like this.
