Anyone here thinks 0.8mm nozzle prints on the A1 are not great?

I’ve been using the 0.8mm nozzle on larger prints on my A1 as I often don’t care about details and the models I print are more functional than anything else. I’ve recently printed a piece which has fairly thin walls (1.6mm) with a few thicker elements on the sides and the overall quality looks like someone rough-carved it from a block of plastic. I gave it a few goes with two different rolls of Bambu PTEG, both dried and non-dried rolls and whilst the quality of the dried filament were indeed better, overall I’m just not impressed. I’m running stock slicer settings which I assumed were tested in real life, but now I’m not so sure. I’ve also seen a comment somewhere that the A1 works fine on smaller nozzles, but that the 0.8mm profiles is just the 0.6mm “scaled up” and that’s what it requires way more tweaking. I’ve attached a few photos of two prints (same part) so you can see for yourself.

I’ve contacted support and they said I can try a few things, which I have but the results are very similar to pre-changes. Any advice as to what can be done to improve things?

Thanks,
T.

You may need to slow down your print speed. The 0.8mm nozzle could be pushing the limits of the print head capability for heating and flow.

I would suggest a manual filament calibration for temp, speed, PA, and flow ratio.

I’ve used it on an A1 in vase mode with good results.
