Anyone know what this is?

I found this tiny piece of red plastic on the build plate of my H2D. It looks like a cover for an indicator LED. I have no idea what it is or where it came from. I rarely print with red filament.

Any ideas?

Coincidentally, my nozzle blocker just got all twisted and broke off today somehow (I have a support ticket about it) and when I went through the parts to find a replacement, I noticed these stickers in the bag with the nozzle blocker replacements and had no idea what they were until now!

It may not matter but the sticker will have another effect besides reducing friction. It will separate whatever that magnet touches by the thickness of that sticker. In magnet world that thickness/distance can modify the attraction strength.

Attraction goes by an inverse square law to inverse cube law depending on some other factors but the point is the force of attraction varies big time with small distances. It goes by between the square and cube of the distance depending on the distance.

Without those pads the magnet will stick harder to whatever bumps up against it. That may or may not matter in practice though, or maybe it does. If it holds on too tight, people might need to reinstall those pads.

Don’t have that printer so don’t even know what it holds but this is just a general thing magnets do.
