I am looking for these special clamps that sometimes come with product like pencil sharpeners or desk lamps, but I cannot for the life of me find them on AliExpress or Amazon or anywhere in a generic form:
I can find then as replacements made/sized for specific products, usually with extra plastic at the top that I do not want or need.
Really it’s just some kind of L-shaped bolt or machine screw with a wingnut and plastic part, but it’s difficult to find even the bolt alone. I also don’t want to print the plastic part if I don’t need to as then seems like it would already be a commonly manufacturer part and usually includes a rubber grip.
I am hoping to find a supplier that can offer them in 4in x 1in or 4in x 2in size.
Thanks - I have found a few like that but I will need to order a lot of these these fairly regularly to include with a 3D-printed product we manufacture and sell. Hoping to get them in different dimensions and at a lower cost.
I’ve reached out to another company selling them online for pencil sharpeners to ask them if they could at least let me know the proper name of this type of clamp and to see if they would be willing to let me know where they are supplied from (sharing with them what I sell so that they didn’t worry about us simply trying to compete with them or undercut them) but got no response.
I think what you shared a pic of though it not anything with a standard name - as far as I can tell it’s a customized F-clamp specifically made for pencil sharpeners
The problem is that they’re nearly $8 each, weigh a lot, and are much heavier-duty than needed. They also aren’t as convenient to setup as the pencil-sharpener style would be.
The ones we’re looking for seem to be included with quite a few products that we’ve come across and even own. The search continues, I guess!
The place I listed that was out of stock was only $2. You could email them and ask them if they would give you a bulk discount and also if they are going to get them back in stock.
Oh I didn’t notice there were 2 separate links - the one that’s $2 is actually the one I reached out to and got no response from. The dimensions don’t appear to be quite what we’re after but I might as well reach out again.
It actually is not too hard to use a cheap bolt of sufficient length, to bend it and to cut the head off.
Add a washer and wing nut and if need be a printed clamp to go on as well.
If the bolt dimensions are fixed even a hardwood board with two bolts for the bend and a little pipe will do fine.
If the DIY way is not feasible I can give you a hint: Anchor bolts
Looking for those gives you links to listings like this random pick.
L shaped bolts in various lengths and thread sizes.
Sure you still need to add a matching wing nut but they should be easy to find.
