Not sure why all of a sudden this keeps happening. I lost three prints before this, I always run auto-level before every print, and after the last three failures I did a complete recalibration, then this happened on the first print. It gets worse if I orientate the object the other way, which is how studio places it on auto-arrange. I even added a brim to try and help hold the edges down.
We probably need a lot more information to help like filament, settings, etc but if it’s bed adhesion I’d recommend cleaning the bed, slowing down the first layer, and possibly increasing first layer line width.
To clean the bed, I like denatured alcohol and a paper towel between every print. Spray on the alcohol, let it sit for a few seconds and scrub it off.
do you even have a build plate on there? doesnt look like a bambu plate… maybe your problem
You can see the Bambu Lab logo on the far side of the plate.
lol, yes, that’s the Bambu High Temperature Plate (Smooth PEI).
It’s Bambu PLA Basic, initial layer height is .2mm, initial layer width is .5 mm. My concern is I’ve printed this same model with no issues and the same settings 3 times yesterday, but now it’s causing problems. So maybe a good wipe of the bed is the issue. Appreciate the suggestions.
Person opinion, skip the IPA/Alcohol and only wash the plate with hot water and dish soap. It’s cheaper and it does a much better job of actually removing contaminants from the bed. Often IPA will lift oils but it won’t remove them unless you flush the plate with it. After washing the bed don’t touch the build surface. The oils from your hands are a big factor in adhesion issues.
my bad didnt have my microscope handy
Ah, come on my guy. You gotta be on your game.
This is known to fix many adhesion issues. And if that doesn’t completely fix it, then try turning off the cooling for the first couple of layers. That’ll at least help you determine if the issue is cooling related.
Thanks all, I appreciate the recommendations!
