Anyone want to talk about how absolutely mesmerizing the Vortek system is?

Purely for fun - but I can’t stop watching the Vortek rack changing hotends. It’s actually so satisfying, and equally impressive that it literally never misses. Only 3D printer lovers can sit by their printer for hours just — watching it go, especially the H2C.

What is so nice as a engineer is to see how simple it really is in the end, It probably took a lot of time to come up with a solution like this that works and has been tested for many many hours and now has already done probably millions of actions in the wild. It looks so complex but look more closely its very basic. Will it be the best compromise of the ‘newer’ systems no idea yet but for now it works and is indeed fun to watch. Got 400h now on mine…

Interesting to read that you still think that this is their primary purpose. But using “mesmerizing” in your title shows that you are beginning to understand:

Fortunately, Bambu is not as smart as they think. I have it on even better authority (the 2nd cousin of my sisters husbands brothers mate), that the Carbon Fibres in Bambu’s PETG-CF are of exactly the right length to block the waves. A Mando helmet with infill set to PETG-CF and outer walls to PETG HF should do.

Now, let’s be safe rather than sorry and try to order some PETG after the last three sales :joy: :rofl:

PS: Sorry for derailing. You can probably tell I am currently suffering from a case of filament defficiency until my order arrives tomorrow. :joy:

Hahaha! Darn filament deficiency! Though, you probably wont believe I printed for 4 years without EVER OWNING YELLOW FILAMENT!

Good to know. Even thought BL has a good track record of making reliable printers, I think it is good to reserve judgment until a significant number of average users get to 1000+ printing hours without much problems, ie. without constant fixing or troubleshooting.

Obviously, the simpler it is the more reliable it will be. Mechnically it looks simple. I have some concerns on the accuracy and reliability of the alignment of the nozzle, and the wireless transmission of nozzle temperature readings. Any problem on these two aspects so far?

No but like you stated the only way to know for sure is to have it longer in the market. There are a few things we can say. Most of the printer is the same as the h2d so we can judge these parts better already. We also know the h2c was in development for years and at the same time as the other printers in the H line so i feel we kind of know BL did more internal testing on it than most other brands. And as i outlined its not really a complex system in the end in how it works… BUT the only way to be sure is having many people racking up thousands of hours on these machines.
