Are X/Z coordinate planes flipped?

I don’t know if this is just normal for Bambu. I just noticed while scaling a print that the X and Z coordinate planes are flipped. Is this normal for Bambu? All my other 3D printers consider X/Y coordinate planes to follow the plan of the build plate, and the Z plane to be perpendicular to the build plate (moving up/down).

When I went to scale my part, the X plane scales the parts height, and the Z plane scales along the horizontal axis (parallel to the extruder’s gantry arm).

Surely, this is a bug in the software, right?

Are you able to post a picture of what you’re seeing?

The “normal” coordinate system is what I’m seeing.

The colours represent the axis and you can see their orientation in in the bottom left corner represented by the matching coloured arrows.

It does seem like X and Y are swapped sometimes in the software. For instance if you click on the Y scale it shows it in the X direction.

I bet you have rotated the model before scaling (or used “auto orient” or “lay on face”). When you scale, the coordinates are the one before rotation (the coordinates of your model) so it throws everything off compared to the plate coordinate system. It’s not a bug but a feature although it can be misleading sometimes.

That is VERY likely. Several parts imported on their side, even when that wasn’t optimal. That would also explain why I never noticed it until now. Thanks!
