ASA Aero Tips

I’ve been trying to print ASA Aero for a while now and have been moderately successful, but was hoping to get improvements on my current results and help those who want at least a working print.

The main issue I want to deal with is the little strands on almost each layer that shower my plate in bits of filament. I have no clue how to deal with it because my inter-layer adhesion is where I want it to be so I fear reducing the flow ratio will hurt that.

I can get prints that look okay from a distance, but the main issue I have is that my has feelable and visible protrusions where the infill is directly adjacent to the wall so I can slide my finger across and feel the bumps (not major, but hoping for a fix without sacrificing strength).

I dry my filament 24/7 at 63C for context so damp fialment should not be the issue.

Here is the print settings but some quick numbers are:

270C print temp

99C Plate Temp

0.5 Flow Ratio

0 retraction

exampleAirFoilSettings.3mf (282.1 KB)

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried to print in Silent mod? It’s %50 reduction in speed. The reason I suggest trying this is often when the infill is acting like you’re seeing it’s because it’s being printed too fast for that type of filament.

I’m already printing at 40mm/s so I’m not sure if a decrease in speed would improve things much
