I have an H2D and was able to use ASA with a .4 nozzle. Right side printing. Now I keep reciving Failed to extrude AMS-HT a Slot 1 filament : the extruder may be clogged or the filament may be to thin, cauing extruder to slip. I am using Bambu ASA, I haved also tried feeding from AMS pro, I changed the PTFE tube, Taken extruder apart and cleaned, replaced Filament buffer. Did a cold pull, its clean. No luck. Prints about 5-9% when I get the error. Bambu Studio 2.7.1.57. Thanks for any help.
Throw on your external spool holder and try doing the print with the ASA hung on the side. This will either rule out the extruder, meaning the AMS is the problem or confirm the extruder is the problem.
I just printed with a. 6 nozzle and the AMS HT and it worked fine.
Are you using a default filament profile?
If you are, then it sounds like it could still be your hotend. I’ve had luck in the past with a 1.5mm allen key and a torch to heat the nozzle and force a short piece of filament through the thing - often this can dislodge junk that a cold pull can’t.
Also, after forcing whatever I can through, I let the nozzle cool with the allen key still in place, then rotate the key as I pull it out. Far more effective than a cold pull.
Testing with another spare 0.4 nozzle might help to identify if the nozzle was the cause.
I have tried a different nozzle, but will give the Allen wrench a try. I am using Bambu’s profile for their Asa. Due you think upping the nozzle temp?
I’ve printed a few spools on ASA and never had this issue with .4s (Bambu, H2D). I however have had TPU do this on a dedicated TPU nozzle and had to Allen it with heat because it was very clogged up. I decided one day to do several cold pulls on every nozzle (13 of them) regardless of what it was used for before and I was surprised just how nasty they all were especially the ones that had fiber filaments run through them.
I have printed 5 things now with external spool holder and it prints fine, even using hot ends that were receiving errors. Only have trouble when running material through ams pro’s and ams ht’s
Ok, you almost certainly have a issue somewhere in your feed path.
Disconnect the PTFE at your AMS and at your print head and try to manually push filament through the whole feed path, work it back and forth, and you’ll feel where the resistance is being introduced. Whatever you find, that’s what needs to be fixed, it could be a badly cut tube, a bit of debris, or some tight bends.
As a comparison, I run everything possible (and even some things Bambu says aren’t possible) through my AMS V1, Pro 2 and HT units, including ASA, and never have issues. It’s all down to a carefully thought out and properly implemented feed path.
