So while I wait for a better solution to install that ridiculous tract switch they sold me, I thought because I mainly use the left nozzle, I could use a 4-in-1 adaptor to run both my AMS to it, but Bambu Studio doesn’t seem to like me doing this as it auto-assigns the second AMS to the right nozzle.
Is there anything I can do to assign both my AMS to the left nozzle or do Bambu stop you doing this to sell more tract switches?
It’s not so much the switch itself, it’s how they implemented it. On X1C when you bought the ams hub it replaced the buffer on the back so it was a clean install. This tract switch needs to be almost retrofitted with printed brackets and makes the rear of the unit a complete mess.
I’m working on my own solution as I don’t like the one BL recommend, and couple of the others on makerworld aren’t quite what I have in mind.
They really should’ve made this an all-in-one replacement for the original buffer, you’d think it would be for the price they charge
I also did not like the Bambu Lab track switch mounting solution. This vertical one seemed the cleanest as you can print with a built in cable organizer and a cable organizer cover to clean up the look.
You can assign each AMS to a nozzle (you can assign all of them to the same nozzle if you want) manually directly on the screen of the printer, in the filament section. Select Manual Mode.
I’ve seen that one yeah. My problem is I want to run a 4-in-1 adaptor on both the tract switch inputs to give me even more flexibility when it comes to using external spools etc and nothing I’ve seen so far seems to cleanly incorporate that. Maybe I’m looking for an impossible solution
2xAMS and 1 AMS-HT and no problems with the setup or filament movement through the tubes over the past few months since I got the system…..I love the automaticity the FTS gives.
Incidentally do you know any way of swapping which AMS is classed as A and which is B? I tried swapping the cables around but it didn’t make any difference
Figured it out, you have to actually reset while they’re plugged in, wait for the lights to flash, unplug them, then plug them back in. All working now, finally got them stacked how I wanted. Cheers again
