Auto bed leveling efficiency question / suggestion

I was wondering if the auto bed leveling couldn’t be made more efficient.

Currently the pattern takes the corner point and an extensive pattern across the build plate.

Wouldn’t it be more efficient to just take the corner points and then limit the pattern to that part of the build plate where the model(s) will actually be printed?

Bed leveling should already be limited to where the print is situated on the plate, that option was added a while ago , it will also do a full bed level

To add another question: you can tick the option bed leveling before every print, do you do a bed leveling before every print? The whole procedure takes 6 minutes for my P1S and i was wondering if this is necessary before every print.

I do a bed leveling at each machine start and each filament change (not on multicolor prints, of course).

Thanks, but why do you do a bed leveling not on multicolor prints?

Interesting …

I can only choose between bed leveling or no bed leveling.

If I choose bed leveling, then my P1S uses a 36 point matrix for bed leveling all over the plate, regardless of only going to print a small 5 x 5 cm model in the center of the plate.

If I choose not to bed level, then there will only be a homing tap in the center.

I am on the latest firmware. Is what you are describing a feature that needs to be turned on in settings somewhere?

As far as im aware it was an auto procedure (removed)? which was still working before the latest update on an A1

Edit appears its still working A1 Mini currently levelling a 4x4 around the print itself

Hi! New to P1, but had a mini for a while, the bed levelling only where needed saved a bit of time on the little plate, has it been activated / incorporated on the p series yet?

Sorry for the newbie question, if its already been asked!
