I have an AMS 2 Pro and HT connected to a H2D printer. I have Auto-refill enabled and if one of my spools runs out in the AMS, it will automatically switch to another spool. But twice now when the spool runs out in the HT, even with an identical color/type spool in the AMS, it will not switch. The printer will not resume unless I replace the empty spool in the HT. Anyone else having this issue or is this working as designed?

I guess itâs just not setup (on a firmware level) to use a combination of HT and regular AMS systems.
The current setup for auto-refill is simply too limiting. We should be able to specify any slot in any AMS for the refill spool, not only the next slot in line. Re-arranging all the spools is sometimes more trouble than I want to go to just to use up a spool. I often just replace a low spool and get on with printing and chuck the nearly-empty one on the low-spool pile. Ideally, Iâd like to have an AMS HT as a utility empty AMS for things like this but first of all that doesnât work, and secondly I already have 4 (full) AMS and I canât get a straight answer from Bambu if a 5th AMS will ever be allowed on an X1C. The H2D can (apparently) have multitudes of AMS HT added to the roster, why not find a way to allow one for a full X1C setup?

same issue on X1C with AMS2Pro and HT. Elegoo rapid petg in A1 and same roll in HT. Printer demanded A1 slot to be replaced and wouldnt feed identical filament from HT even though everything was meticulously prepared beforehand
It works completely fine for multicolour printing - HT as a â5th AMS slotâ. Not for Auto-Refill tho⌠-.-
It does for me, every time. Wonder what differsâŚ

I think Auto refill will only work if there are 2 or more slots in a device. Since HT is a single spool, it doesnât have that âslotâ to refill from, that and not ready for prime time programming. Logically it should work, but an HT is not an AMS and an AMS is not an HT. Has it been tried with a pair of HT? Maybe that combo will work.
I also ran into this issue today, looks like the requirement is you can only use the auto refill per each nozzle (left or right) on the H2D.
This essentially means you canât auto refill with the AMS HT since you can only have 1 spool in it (unless maybe if you have 2 HTs and daisy chain them together?).

Just ran across this and had a print failure on my H2D that cost me a 19hr print and almost a full spool of PA-GF. I had the spool in my AMS HT to print from my left nozzle. Thinking it wouldnât have been enough to finish, I loaded two 1/4 spools of PA-GF in my AMS 2 slots 1 and 2. Cool, checked auto Refill and it showed auto refill on my right nozzle A1/A2.
Error on my part, I switch the print back to the AMS HT because that was my larger and drier filament. Literally an hour from the end it didnât switch to my AMS A1/A2 where the other two spools were.
I have already been looking to get another AMS HT but if it canât switch between two AMS HT on one nozzle that is a fail.
Expensive time consuming lesson learned though.

I had basically nothing to lose, so I just tried this on my newish H2S. Both rolls are RFID bambu (Iâll some generic next)
Low roll is on the AMS HT and new roll is in AMS 2 Pro
But that is both into the same nozzle correct? I am thinking that is all that matters and just want to confirm for everyone on this thread. It does make sense so you arenât loosing calibration by reloading a spool into the other nozzle.
Since my last post, I now have a second HT and have reloaded perfectly fine from one to the other with them both fed into the left nozzle. On another print, I went through 3 remnant rolls into a full roll that were loaded in my AMS2 with no problems at all.
I have a H2S - so, only 1 nozzle to choose from 
There has also beem some chatter about going from AMS to HT and back would also cause problems for auto refill, I was also pointing out that isnât an issue.
If you were trying to swap nozzles, then that is a different nozzle, different buffer etc - plus different accesible print areas. Probably a bit more technical than just âUse next filamentâ

I donât bother with auto refill, I just refill it when it runs out. I did have it run out just as it did a color swap and had to retract what was still in the tube, that does cause an issue. Thankfully it had just enough to get grabbed by the AMS and retract it or I would have been pulling things apart to remove the unused stuff. From what I read it has to be Bambu filament or it wont auto refill.

H2C. On the left nozzle 1x AMS2, on the right nozzle 1x AMS2 and 2x AMS HT.
I knew i would run out of filament in my AMS HT, so i loaded the same filament in the second AMS HT.
Same brand, type, color and Auto-Refill was activated. But it doesnt work.

I think auto refill only works in same unit, and not across units. I tried it, but because it was on a different head, it disabled auto refill.
So with AMS HT, this feature is no feature ^^
I just used auto refill from a AMS2pro to a AMS HT not 20 minutes ago - this was on a H2S, but it certainly worked.
