Automatic Standby Filament Drying (AMS 2 PRO/AMS HT)

I would like the ability to have the AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT automatically enter a filament drying cycle when a certain amount of time has passed or when the hygrometer is above a certain humidity value. I have both units. Most of my filament is stored in cereal containers with desiccant beads, but my commonly used filaments stay in the AMS units and I’ve noticed that they drift higher in humidity over time. I don’t use the machine professionally, so it sits for periods of time and I’d rather it maintain filament dryness on its own. And when I do sit down to use it, I would rather it be ready to go.

I’m also working on printing some additional desiccant holders for the AMS units and spools, but it would still be nice to have this feature, as it would maintain the desiccant beads for longer as well.

Fill it with Desiccant holders and rechargeable desiccant, you will be amazed how quickly the humidity drops in the AMS. As for doing a drying session remote, I would love that feature, but the spools have to be disconnected, which is a PITA, especially when using non Bambu spools.

Why do the spools have to be disconnected to dry? Because it won’t dry what’s already in the system?

On the X series, it will not allow drying if PLA is inserted. At some point that will change, its just something Bambu did to prevent AMS clogging from soft filament. On the H2 series you can dry with them inserted. Still waiting for dry while printing on the C.
