Automation for A1 (3D print farm)

I’m sorry but this is ridiculous. You’re basically saying that just because Jobox and Dill “might decide to make one in a few years or something” that A1 owners can’t make a product that allows them to swap plates.
They don’t have a patent and they haven’t stated any intention to make the product. What you are saying has no basis.

After seeing how they acted in the comments of that open source one linked above, I wouldn’t want to deal with Jobox or Dill anyway, even if they did manage to sell files or ship to AU

Any updates? Have pre-orders started yet? Also, if I was printing a cube that was 256mm by 256mm by 256mm, would the plate be changed before the print finished?

Why would you think that?

Watch the video of the plate changer in action. It seems like the plate changes no matter what once it slides all the way back.

Afaik it would reduce the printable area by some since the very back would make it pop off as you noted. I assume the software would either note that or you would be able to change Studio to have the adjusted size. It would be nice if they clearly stated what size it was reduced to though :)

@Zammer3D
You don’t have to downvote everything. I was asking a genuine question on why it swap plates if you made a 256x256x256 cube.

It seemed rather passive aggressive/mocking to me rather than a genuine question.

such a cool project hope you meet the deadline and everything goes well

Looks awesome! I would use that system! the one question I do have is have you accounted for print size and weight. because I print and sell items up to 200g on my A1, some of which are not evenly balanced across the plate. because your system relies on sliding the plate off, could heavier prints mess that up? have you tested it?
