According to the BL Twitter, there would be units available on launch. I believe it was restated in the launch email.

Yeah, only the H2D Combo apparently
The combo is in stock, laser shortly and H2D pre-order? So there is “limited” stock
that’s misleading. I paid for the most expensive version too

Also it seems not possible to really order… I have tried and when typing my zipcode in France, it says there’s no delivery for this code 
There helpdek is ultra-saturated (queued in position 104 actually).
Im not happy about it either. Since stuff sells out so fast, maybe they need to give more info ahead of time to “help make an informed decision”

Yes for like 30-60 min then they were out by 2 weeks but I was talking to a sale rep they said they may reopen preorders like they are doing for the base model so then you have your name in a queue
I bought in the first 15 seconds. If you wanted the full blown 40watt flagship, it was a 1 month wait. The filtration needed for it will be ready in may

The same with shoe laces, unlikely as annoying as you are dealing with though.
Those two weeks might serve you well. Not sure if you use a laser now but I do and while it might save a few bucks over a standalone laser, I would never consider running a laser in the same enclosure as a 3D printer with all of those moving parts. My lasers are in the garage because they smoke and stink (with very good ventilation/inline fan/ductwork setup) and the residue buildup is incredible.
I like that Bambu is looking into new things but this is a hard pass for me. You can probably find a used 10-20W laser used to get your feet wet or at least, really try to decide what you want to do with it and then look up info on the limitations of a diode laser. They are great for certain applications but three’s a lot they cannot do too.

I bought the H2D combo, I’m just cautioning people that the laser aspect might be a bit underwhelming. I’ve been down that road when I bought a diode laser. As I mentioned, it’s great a certain applications but it has a lot of limitations too.
Honestly, I thought they had a decent supply (or a lot of people balked at the cost). I took nearly 30 mins to an hour to put my order through and I got a confirmation that a shipping label was printed already.
@just4memike its the full flagship that was 1 month wait at launch. The $3,500 bundle. Kinda funny that the biggest buyers wait the longest. O well

Oh nice. My plan is only to use it for small metal etching. Never anything else. In your experience, is it still super messy with stainless steel? This will be my first laser
Yeah, I saw that delay when I was ordering. But standard combo was available immediately for quite some time, before selling out the initial allotment. Definitely lasted longer than I thought it would.
Never tried my laser on Stainless steel, but honestly, I didn’t like diode lasers for etching. Just never worked well. Maybe this one will be different.
Shoelaces, are important new parts of the H2D printer (also the X & P series).
The new models related to the new TPU 90A/85A materials are being promoted as being ready for the H2D printer (again, they work with X & P series).
Several models are shoes and a new MakerSupply model is shoelaces.
I am not drunk, but, someone is.

Well, with stainless, you can mark it. I have a 40W Xtool. Basically, you can leave black marks. Something like this. The idea that you can “color” metals or do much more is optimistic at best. This is especially true if you want it to be reliable. If you want to color metals, a fiber laser is probably a better option (was next on my list before I bought this printer).
I’d suggest looking up what a diode can and cannot do on metals. Pure metals are a no go as far as I know but alloys can be marked. But there’s also marking sprays and other stuff for better results. The absolute kicker is Bambu doesn’t have and I don’t see how they can have a rotary tool which is where a diode laser really shines.
