Backside of Prints is washed-out/faded

Something has def. changed with Bambu PLA matte.

I did a test and downgrade the Firmware and did have the same results.

I had success to print Bambu Matte when:

  • Using 3DLAC spray (spray the baseblate, let it dry and spray again)
  • Let the Prints cool down outside (it is cold in Switzerland atm)
  • Remote the prints.
  • The prints still have marks on the backside (see my posts above)
  • Wash the prints in hot water. This helps to remove the marks.

Still, the prints stick too tight to the baseplate. And it is really hard to clean off the baseplate and remove some print residues.

In the meantime, I have printed a different PLA (not Bambu) without any problem.

I do have some 3DLAC lying around somewhere so I will give that a go as well, thanks for the tips!

I ended up trying a couple other matte black filaments from hatchbox and elegoo. Had the same results there but it could be they are all using the same manufacturing process for matte filaments.

Just for the record, I am having the same problem with a roll I just started using, and bought in November. I live in the Netherlands, so possibly this is a EU product / supplier issue?

I hate the idea of having to spray my textured plate and clean it with soap and water each time… especially since it seems to be related to only the matte and maybe only the black (I can not see it on marine blue and mandarin orange matte surfaces)

I’ve been having the same problem. It is bambu matte PLA I believe. When I use polyterra PLA it adequately cools and leaves no residue. Prints slide straight off the plate.

I have seen some say that downgrading firmware works. I personally have not tried that.
Some say Z-offset could fix the problem and that it is printing too close to the bed. I’ve done calibrations right before prints and no changes. Adhesion is way too strong on the new PLA bambu is selling.

No sure if there is something in the filament print profile we can change.

Some cheap hair spray helped. I also did not have to clean it between every print.
