Bad extrusion (i think)

I recently bought a Bambu A1 and have been very happy with it. However, it has suddenly stopped printing correctly. The first layers are not being printed properly, and the printer continues going through the motions as if it’s printing, but no filament comes out.

When I push the filament in manually, it starts extruding again — but of course, it prints into the air because the earlier layers are missing.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Replaced the extruder gear (the yellow cog)
  • Changed the nozzle
  • Tried different filaments (Bambu Matte)
  • Tightened and loosened the driven wheel bracket

Despite all this, the issue persists.

I’ve also noticed the following:

Here is a video of the wheel bracket, it pushes the yellow cog aside, I don’t know if this is correct.
bracket

At this point, I don’t know what else I can do. I hope someone here has an idea of what might be going wrong or can point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried removing the filament hub to make sure there isn’t a broken piece of filament in there that may be causing binding? Are you using an AMS or just a single spool?

hi T_M, I will check the filament hub.

I’m using a single spool.

I just have tried setting the spring of the driven wheel bracket a little less tight, seem to help not grinding down on the filament, but with a print it just does the first layer again and then the filament stop extruding.

The thing is it extrudes when i test, and at the beginning of the print, but it stops after the first layer, it just continues to print, but the spool is not rotating and the filament doesn’t come out.

I just noticed 2 things.

The nozzles seems to toch the bed or the print during printing because i hear it scraping a bit. (but then why will it stop pulling the filament in?)

and when the filament comes out the nozzle, (during the start of the print or a test) the filament doesn’t seem to come out straight down but bends out.

checked the hub btw, nothing wrong with it.
