I wonder if anybody could help me diagnose this? On recent prints of this particular piece (at this size) im experiencing bad layer shifting. Ive tried with another filament, and have got similar results. Previously though this print has printed just find though (as you can see in the photo). Interestingly other prints seem to be printing just fine without any shifting (same filament).
Im a little confused and was wondering if anybody had any suggestions? Ive done auto bed leveling and flow calibration. Have also lubed the axis recently.
The bulges near the curves make me think pressure advance / k factor / flow dynamics (diff names, same thing).
The gaps in the extrusions also make me think flow RATIO is too low but it could also be something like a partial clog.
If all else fails, double check the screws on the heating fixture for tightness, slop in this shows up systemically all over in wierd ways .
Find a guide if you need, but unscrew these 3 screws completely, flip the black plate down, tighten these 4 screws

Possibly but not much info to go on. Are you drying/how?
When people mention “new spool” here it’s sometimes because they think new spools are dry when new spools can arrive with high moisture contents. The bags they are vacuum sealed in are semi-permeable to water so filament that has sat in inventory for a while can get worse with time.
Stuff that used to print fine at one time but now doesn’t can often be due to wet filament from the get-go or filament that isn’t stored in a dry box and that eventually picks up too much water from ambient humidity.
And could settings for the model file have changed?
Ive never actually had the need to dry filament before, but ive now ordered a drier and will see if it helps.
Nothings changed on the print file and the model has printed fine before with the same filament. Im a little confused though because if it was the filament picking up moisture - would it not be more of a gradual degradation over time? It printed fine a week or 2 ago.

Drying is a whole topic of its own. Since it sounds like you’re on the edge, most dryers stand a good chance of fixing you up if it is water.
On moisture effects and how they appear, it’s a little hard to nail down. It seems like small amounts of water are barely noticeable but as water increases things transition from minor to major and some effects are almost step changes like models refusing to stay stuck to build plates.
And some might be something else. About all you can do is try drying and see if it changes things. If it does the issue was likely water.
But drying isn’t dead simple. There’s more to it than just heating up a spool if you want best results. Some dryer designs are just poor. There are lots of discussions about filament drying here and elsewhere. Hopefully your filament just needs “touching up” and most dryers should be good.
Drying the spool worked miracles! Can’t believe I’ve got away not having to do this for at all for the last few years. Must be the prolonged hot weather we’ve had here I guess.
