Bad rateing because model too big

Hi all. I have just had two reviews — one with 3 stars and one with 2 stars — on two different models, both from the same person. The first one with 3 stars said they haven’t printed it yet because it looks too big, so he gave me 3 stars. The second said that he printed it for his sister-in-law, but it was too big, so he gave me 2 stars.

They are not exceptional or anything special — just some earrings — I have 5 stars on both modles exept for one rating were i got a 4 star with no explanation even after asking why. I even got some boosts on the models. The reason he gave is that they are too big. I only do this for pleasure, but it annoyed me because of the reason he gave. I am happy to take criticism, but not for something being too big.

Am I right to think this is wrong, and should I report it and see if I can get them removed?

I just reported both ratings. Don’t forget to block them so they can’t complain that all your other models are “too big”.

Reporting is easy, those comments did not even make sense to me.

Anyways, reports always seem to be faster if it is submitted by the person that made the model.

I recommend blocking level 7 and below from rating and commenting. 90 percent of the time it is someone at a lower level. Just shows they do not know what they are doing.

Thanks. Like i said i am not doing this to make a living but when i have some time i like to play around with CAD etc. it gives me pleasure knowing someone likes the small things i can actually make LOL. Most of the time i do personel things for family so i dont upload them. In 3 years i have had 3 gift cards so its not like i am doing it for money. I never sell anything i make but somthing so petty like the model is to big!!!. Anyway rant over Thanks for your advice.

I really wanted to reply to the one and say it isn’t your fault his sister-in-law has tiny ears… but I took the high road.

The good news is that other creators can see this, too, and block the user. At least those who are active on the forum do. Eventually, the user will wonder why certain creators are no longer visible to him. People don’t consider the consequences of their behaviour.

As for models being low rated beacuse they are “too big”.

This depends what the model is. If it’s a statue, sure the size doesn’t matter. But if it’s functional e.g. a tool, then yes, size clearly matters as it has to be holdable etc.

So i’d need to see the model before i decide if OK. i do wish this information - what the model was - was included as part of the original post.

3D printing has been my new hobby for almost two years. I always view the models and contributions of the members with respect, regardless of their size. I am grateful for every model and contribution; I see each one as an idea for other interested people. Since I have no commercial interests with my new hobby, I have published all my very modest models free of any copyright restrictions. I am grateful that such matters are discussed here as outlined. Reviews should always be objective and verifiable by other users. If that is not possible, then giving a negative review is absolutely unacceptable. That is my opinion.

I have been 3D printing for about 7 years now. I never sold anything. I’m not in it to make money , it’s my hobby. It was for 2 pairs of earrings. Both of them was Betty hoop. Find my profile on Bambi labs and you can see the model,s. Nothing special. People like earrings of all shapes and sizes so giving 3 stars for one that was not even printed and saying it looks to big is not a valid reason for 3 stars. The second was printed but his comment was IT looks to big. :flushed_face:So he gave me 2 stars. I have tested and re tested theses models and if the profile I uploaded is respected, it works. It can be resized but there’s a limit. The problem was with the size and not the model. If the model was bad OK, I’ll hold my hands up and except it. Anyway it’s been sorted now and with some help from some decent people on this forum. the comment’s have been removed.

It’s nothing special. Just earrings. The thing is with earrings, people like different sizes. I have seen people with 10 to 20 cm earrings sometimes bigger. I don’t have a lot of models on maker world, abou 8 I think so if you want to have a look at my models, feel free
