Bambu A1 printing out pure string?

I was thinking about this, but I don’t think that would cause the nozzle to keep reheating.

So you think my hotend/nozzle (they’re the same thing to me - I’m new lol) is damaged due to the glow PLA? And that’s why it won’t heat up properly?

I just cleaned my plate and about to do a cold pull now to get the silk PLA out

Edited to add - I just ordered and received 5 new spools of various colors of Sunlu PLA so I hope that will be fine. I didn’t get to try them out yet but had zero issues with the transparent/clear one

Not sure that it would try to keep reheating, but it does point to a partial clog or an extruder worn out. As I said, we have found part of the problem. Still spinning the gears in my head, but this is a start.

Just my luck both stainless steel and hardened steel .4 mm hotends are out of stock for around 2 weeks. I’ll order them when available

Your extruder/hotend/nozzle is damaged due to the glow pla. They are pretty much all the same part in the A1.

The not heating up properly is still up in the air.

If you are in the US, you can see if a MicroCenter near you has one.

There isn’t one near me for over 4 hours and their site doesn’t show they stock it

I just read the bambu site about the pla glow and I clearly didn’t read it before hand because it says it’s not compatible with ams lite (which I am using) and requires a hardened nozzle to keep using it

Edited to add - looks like various sellers on Amazon carry them?

Bambu Labs does not sell on Amazon, so I would be wary of those.

I may be late to this but I recently printed Bambu PLA silk copper and it was very fluid while printing. I feel like turning down print temp would fix it but I never tried. So this could just be a filament issue. Their silk PLA is the only Bambu filament I have ever tried that did this.

Hi! Thanks for responding still. I’ve had zero issues with the silk PLA so far and I have a feeling that my nozzle is clogged and I can’t get it out so it’s just coming out wispy spaghetti. I ordered 2 stainless steel and 2 hardened steel hotends this morning since I noticed they restocked so when those come in we’ll see if that was really the issue :slightly_smiling_face:

Just ordered more as well haha, their store is dangerous for my financial wellbeing.

So an update for you all - I did get new hotends and that didn’t fix the issue I had… I opened up brand new vacuum sealed filament and it worked fine. In the meantime I also ordered a dry box to dry out my filament. I also got an air quality monitor to check the humidity in my room. It’s working now. The problem mostly was wet filament :man_facepalming:t2:
