So I started having some extrusion issues on the X2D aux extruder, where it seemed to start to high. (mentioned in another post), that seems to either stem from a error in the nozzle offset sensor, or the extruder itself.
Fine, I bought a printer day one, I am not suprised there was some teething issues, no stranger to that. (its the grey/white in the picture)
Redoing offset calibration fixed it somwhat for one print (just not as bad), but as soon as it did run it again (the slicer were set to auto calibrate) the issues reapeared (and no subsequen calibration seemed to fix it). (it seem to start the next layer to high.
Did the regular recalibrate, replace nozzle, swap to a known good filament (dried ofc), same issue.
Fine, I reach out to Bambu support, thinking it might be bad sensor, or such, thinking they either have a fix or just going to replace the sensor itself. A bit annoying, but hey.
Nope, this mess is the “expected quality” of the aux nozzle according to Bambu support.
We all know its not as precice as the main nozzle, but this is just stupid to claim..
I have been 3D printing a decade, and no machine with bowden has delivered worse results unless something was majorly wrong.
Can you show a screen with Bambu support answer please? Because I simply cannot believe they answered in such manner. As you mentioned earlier, it’s a mess on this photo, and this has nothing to with “expected quality”.
Luckily my aux nozzle is just messy - leaves crumbles wisps and poops all over in the back where it shouldn’t.
I will suggest that you do manual tuning of PA, flow, and retraction length on filament going thru your aux, i’ve seen tested PA values from 0.05x all the way to 0.44x, it’s way more wild to try to get good quality out of. Make it do supports at 0 distance and youll be happy

It’s annoying, but that’s how the system blocks questions from beginners. Yours isn’t a beginner’s question, but the system thinks it is.
Repeat this a few times, use only the ticket system - no live chat or other forms of communication - and always use the same ticket number. If the ticket is closed: File an appeal and have it reopened; do not create a new one, otherwise the process will start over from the beginning.
oh yeah, that is from a ticket. I dont deal with AI bots more than ask “talk to a human” in any situation
I always do tickets, and that is far from closed.
I did find the solution, it was a setting that had mysteriously changed, and coupled with the largew delay in the bowden system the nozzle did not prime enough.
Bambus answer is still bonkers, but glad it was not hardware.
But basically the profile I had downloaded disabled the prime tower (on a X2D spesific multicoulour print, and since my aux nozzle dont start to extrude anything before its atleast one full line “done” in on the prime tower, it had tthese results.
That setting carried forward into the next test prints and for some stupid reason on my part i did not connect the dots. (This is my first multi-nozzle machine.)
I feel incredibly stupid for not catching it, but I guess I have been doing this so long that my mind just skips the easy solution somehow.
I blame the lack of coffee, sleep and a bit of arrogance.
So kids, remeber to check the basic solutions first, and dont be a smuck like me
Interestingly enough, there was a turn of events, after bambu reviewing the logs and videos one more time, (as well as asking for a new one, even after mentioning what i did in this post, they decided to replace the extruder as it apprently had issues anyway (it was a bit slow to push and reract material causing a lot of stringing)
Dont know the spesific reason, but hey, I am not going to argue if they want to send me one to see if I can get some further improvements.
