Have you considered the other side of the argument?

I hope this is down to their low level shipping company having pulled out of NZ ?
Beginning around June this year many Australian shipping services changed their terms and conditions, especially for non-standard sizes and heavy items.
For example my supplier for laser plywood struggled for over 3 months to find working shipping arrangements for the large sheets.
A small lathe I ordered only arrived after I agreed to pay half on the extra shipping costs the seller got slammed with sine I order…
I checked with a friend who is in NZ and who was able to provide a tiny bit more insight here.
All major shipping companies provided rather drastic price increases for ‘bulky items’.
Despite the various trade agreements in place this had a big impact on local businesses already which rely on imported products.
Right now the only feasible option is to order in huge bulk quantities to use shipping containers, rather than several smaller orders spread out.
Then there is this weird business mode…
Email was just sent out; below for those that didn’t get it (I’ve removed the link it included):
Dear Customers,
We regret to inform you that our official store will no longer provide direct shipping services to New Zealand. This decision was made due to the lack of a local warehouse in New Zealand, which results in higher shipping costs and longer delivery times when orders are shipped from our domestic warehouse.
To better serve our New Zealand customers, we have transitioned sales to auth…
the reason is not bambu directly, but the fact that shipping to NZ is hard and expensive. You and others in the linked thread are understandably angry, but the way around that could be to do a group buys and shipping via container or even better: become a reseller and put out of business those resellers that are scalping customers in NZ.
