Bambu Handy does not stream video to my iPhone and iPad

There have been many power cycles. Installed and reinstalled the iPhone app several times. The SD card access is the least important problem. I have no live video. That is the major issue. My only option is to hotspot my iPhone and carry an Android device as well. It’s ridiculous.

It has finally been resolved. Today, 29/6/2024, my iPad 10 and iPhone 13 are able to stream video when running Bambu Handy. I was happily watching videos of print jobs in progress until an update a couple of weeks ago.
Today, following a tip from Bambu support, I logged into my iPhone’s hotspot then connected to that network on my iPad and it worked. Video streaming again. Then I used my wife’s iPhone’s hotspot on my iPhone and it worked too.
Something like a cache was preventing access, but using the hotspot cleared the problem. How? I don’t know and don’t really care as long as it works.

Thanks Bambu support

Hmm, I don’t have two IOS devices. And the iPhone is the only device I can hotspot.

The hotspot method is just a way to log into your Handy without going through your WiFi.
You could try clearing your phone’s cache, or uninstalling, then reinstalling Handy, or hard reboot your iPhone (for recent models, press and quickly release the volume up button. Press and quickly release the volume down button. Press and hold the side button. When the Apple logo appears, release the side button)

Those steps have already all been tried, except the cache. How is the Handy cache cleared on IOS?

I sometimes have the same problem with Bambu handy.
Then I have to turn off my wifi on the iphone / ipad and then open bambu handy and start streaming, then it works again. Also with wifi.

Mine does this a lot and usually full power cycle fixes it.

Tap on the Settings icon and then choose General. Tap on the section iPhone Storage. Shortly, all apps and their storage usage will be listed. Choose the app for which you wish to clear the cache .

I found the cache. It didn’t matter. I’ve tried with Wifi off, still no video.

Edit: and just now for the first time since owning the X1, killing wifi got me video. Go figure

Well done. You’ve finally nailed it.

This is what clear the issue for me! My computer could stream, but my phone couldn’t. This was when I was on wifi, as soon as I turned off wifi and went to cellular it loaded right away.

Yes there is a solution. I believe the issue is a caching problem. Every time Handy updates there’s no ability to view Timelapse or live video on Handy.
The solution? On an iPhone, turn on Personal Hotspot, and while it’s running, open Handy. Then exit Handy, switch off Personal Hotspot and revert to your WiFi, and log into Handy again. For me this works, and I do it every time Handy is updated. Oh, and once it works on the iPhone it works on my iPad too.

this worked for me, thanks!
