Hi everyone,
I’m experiencing an issue where the nozzle drags across the infill during printing and breaks or damages the infill structure. The first layer prints perfectly, and the problem only occurs while printing infill.
Things I’ve already tried:
However, the hotend assembly screws keep loosening over time. I tried applying Loctite 243, but after using it, the screws became difficult to tighten properly and now do not seem to hold securely.
My questions are:

Is Loctite 243 recommended for these small hotend assembly screws?

Is there a different threadlocker that should be used instead?

Could 5% gyroid infill be contributing to the nozzle dragging issue?

Are there any additional checks or calibration steps I should perform?
The issue occurs only during infill printing. The nozzle appears to catch the infill and eventually breaks parts of it, affecting print quality.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

From your picture, it’s clear that your infill layers aren’t going down cleanly, the issue happens when the gyroid pattern transitions from one direction to the other and the infill extrusion isn’t bonding to the preceding layer - causing it to curl up and interfere with the next layer, and so forth.
You need to diagnose why this is happening - it could potentially be wet filament, a bad profile, or feed issues.
What filament are you using? Are you using a stock or modified print profile?
Lastly, I’ll give some general advice: When faced with a problem, the impulse might be to start “doing stuff” - trying a bunch of things to see what works. I promise you that’s never the answer, and while it might succeed, on average this will wind up costing more time, money, and frustration. Understanding the problem deeply prior to acting is essential for success. Most of the things you’ve tried have little or nothing to do with the root cause of your problem.
I’d advise you to undo all of the things you’ve done and revert to stock settings across the board, and then begin a step by step troubleshooting process. I’m concerned that you may have stripped your hotend screws or the threads they go into based on your comments.
Z hop isn’t the answer, that only governs how the nozzle moves when it’s moving across the print (not extruding) - it has nothing to do with the catching that’s happening when it is extruding.

Resetting the profile and recalibarting actually fixed the issue. Thank you so much for your help and advise, you’re my savior!

What fixed your issue? I seem to be having the same issue, myself. Can’t figure out why it’s happening.
