I own a P1s and im planning to get an A1. I mainly want it to be able to carry it around to Fairs / Markets so I can setup my stall and offer on demand 3D printing.
Obviously the A1 mini is smaller, thus more portable, but I would prefer the A1 due to a larger bed size… My question is more related to portability with regards if Its ok to stay carrying around the A1 without damaging it?. As far as I know the underside of the A1 doesn’t have any parts that could get damaged due to me putting the a1 on the car seat etc.
I am interested in the responses to this question also, because I was considering something similar. Not fairs or markets, but schools when teaching children.
I was considering the mini because of its size. But is it really portable?
I would say the A1 and A1 mini are “portable”, but with caveats.
They are portable due to their size, which makes them easier to transport than the P and X series.
I would recommend putting some, if not all of the retaining screws back into the printer during transit though. If you can’t do this, ensure the build plate/bed cannot move backwards or forwards. That is the most likely point of transit-related failure.
They are there for a reason.
The A1 mini has many printable handles available which makes it physically easier to move around. The A1 has a bar at the top which can be used to manoeuvre it. That is good to get it to the edge of a surface, I would recommend holding it from the base though.
Add something soft to the build-plate if you leave it on the printer during transit. Wrapping a towel around it and underneath would be sufficient in my opinion.
Before starting the printer wherever it is moved to, ensure nothing has fallen into any crevice.
Final thought; treat it with the same care as an infant and you should be safe.

Hey thanks a lot for your detailed response !
I saw the handle of the a1 mini, pretty cool and i really would go for the mini if im just going to use the printer for just markets.
It mainly will be in my office, transportation should occur frequently so taking into consideration your points, i think im safe to go. Also the retaining screws tip is a good idea, ill definitely keep them.

They are pretty portable. Just make sure it doesn’t get scratched.
