Bambu Lab Discriminatory Practice

Even more words to say you know you are using the word incorrectly but you are unwilling to admit it for some odd reason.

Again, I said it in one sentence. Not that hard to admit you are a human and therefore make mistakes.

I can’t see your point. If you knew of the filament membership program prior to the purchase, you’ve made an educated decision to purchase from a distributor (or not if you have not read the program statement but that’s entirely your fault). If you did not know about the program prior to the purchase, you missed nothing as you made your decision without this benefit. Complaining now that this program exists and you cannot benefit from it gets you nowhere and calling it discrimation is pitiful.

I think I’ve got a grasp on your agenda here. Is it possible you’re associated with Bambu Lab, employing a strategy to sidestep the main issue by launching peripheral attacks? Interesting tactic. But, let’s pivot slightly—where in the world are you located? Your geographic location could be shading your viewpoint. See, by questioning your location, I’m supposedly discriminating based on where you are, mirroring your accusation towards my use of ‘discrimination.’ This illustrates the nuanced complexity of the term and the broader debate on fairness and transparency we should be focusing on.

I understand now. You cannot admit you were wrong because you misused the word on purpose. Interesting.

Your logical fallacy of poisoning the well is easily seen and mocked for the idiocy it represents. Try again, but this time just admit the truth everyone knows, that you misused a word on purpose to be increase the emotional impact of your statement, since facts show you to be in the wrong.

You got caught. Trying (and failing) to deflect it onto others only makes you look even worse.

I appreciate your continued engagement and perspective on this matter. It seems we have reached an impasse in our discussion, with our viewpoints fundamentally diverging. My intention has always been to foster a constructive dialogue about consumer rights and transparency, not to misuse terminology or elicit unwarranted emotional responses. You forgot to answer where you are from, if you aren’t based in the USA you don’t understand the American values but if you are then there is still a difference of opinion.

It’s clear that further debate on the semantics will not lead us to a mutual understanding or resolution. Therefore, I think it’s best we agree to disagree on this issue and move forward. I respect your position and thank you for the rigorous exchange of ideas. Let’s channel our energies towards the main issue!

Thank you for the spirited debate.

I want to add my resentment for this practice and hope Bambu can come to recognized it’s customers regardless of where they purchased their machines from. Now, the ones who have purchased the machines through Bambu’s web store are only getting the filament membership discount for 30 days so they will be in the same boat as us Microcenter buyers soon too. I think that my protest to Bambu’s practice of leaving me out of their filament program is to buy only from other sources from now on.

No semantics here. You know you used it wrong and refuse to admit it. You were given proof via a well respected dictionary and you still say you are right and therefore the dictionary does not know the meaning of words.

The truth does not care if you agree, you only look petty denying it

OK guys. This is a 3D Printing forum
Let’s move on with the subject and not argue about word usage.

Was the filament program advertised on the retail packaging? I cannot think of any retail consumer goods that have disclaimers to the pitfalls of chosing one sales channel over another, nor would a retailer support such a thing.

No where is Bambu listing the filament program as an “included in the box” line item for retail. Did you expect a jack-in-the-box to pop up and hit you over the head with a forwarning of what was to come if you continued down this purchase path? Should an employee at Microcenter hand you a pamphlet before checkout and make sure you signed a legal document confirming acceptance and comprehension?

The program is a perk of buying direct. Buying from Microcenter has the perk of easy local returns that Bambu cannot offer themselves.

I find this whole accusation very silly and entitled.

:joy:

I love the idea of the jack-in-the-box! I would have noticed and made an educated purchase.

I appreciate your engagement!

They do recognize customers - registering your machine proves this. You just want your cake and eat it too.

Buy from the maker and you get some stuff people who buy from others do not get. This is done routinely, nothing out of the ordinary going on here.

Similar issues here. When I purchased my X1C they wouldn’t ship to my country from their website, so I purchased from their only authorised dealer in my country - and now I’m punished for it.

Maybe the reason it hasn’t yet been extended to everyone is that the BBL store has trouble keeping many of its filaments adequately stocked.

Regardless, I don’t think you’re missing a lot by not buying BBL filaments. For instance, quite a number of forum posts claim that the BBL PETG is not particularly good. If you look at other brands for bundled deals on amazon and probably elsewhere, you can beat BBL’s discounted price on most things. For these reasons I think it’s likely that some form of introductory membership will eventually be offered to everyone as a way of promoting BBL’s filaments and getting people to try them.

Lastly, the BBL discount membership applies to only certain types of filament anyways, not to all the filaments it sells.

I would like to use Bambu Lab filaments for their compatibility with the AMS, etc. Most filaments from third parties including Microcenter are moving to cardboard spool. By using Bambu Lab only products, I would think that they ensured compatibility and higher quality. Thus I would take advantage of the membership.

I think that I am getting tired of this discussion. I learned a lot here.

What would be the best filament non PLA for the X1C? I need to use ABS and Nylon.

Personally, if I had the choice between buying my BL printer direct and getting a membership vs from an local distributor, I’d choose the local distributor hands down. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Microcenter, they support you as much as they can. Here’s the real concern, if you happen to buy a lemon from BL, you’re stuck with their supposed support. Most likely you’ll have a paper weight for weeks. With Microcenter, you simply return or exchange it.

The filament from BL isn’t any better than other brands. The RFID option, while great on paper, isn’t that reliable and from my experiences not needed or relied on at all by me. Bottom line, I’d be happier knowing I wouldn’t start my journey with a defective printer. Sunlu offers great filament that is both high speed and on plastic spools if dealing with cardboard spools is an issue for you. Again, I’ve learned how to shuck the cardboard spools and use 3D printed spools to replace the cardboard. Plus, I can usually buy one or two spools for less than what BL offers membership prices for when buying 4+ spools.

My .02 cents worth…

You’re mad about a decision you made. Own up to it and quit trying to blame people, or a company that had no influence on your choice as a consumer. Take it to the company you chose to do business with.

So you buy a car from Mercedes through a dealer and the car has issues, Mercedes should not be blamed and it is up to you and the dealer! Great!

Hey Larry,

Thanks for your .02 cents. I am buying filaments for my X1C and I want to use high quality filaments. I will do a research!

Regards,

You’re sure distorting the truth in every direction to avoid personal responsibility!

The issue isn’t with the Mercedes, its with the dealership you bought it from. And you’re expecting your dealer to match a competitor’s 6 month free oil change deal after you’ve signed the papers and bought the car.

No you are the one confusing apples with potatos. I never said anything about BL competitors. Read the issue from the beginning. And whoever tells me that the issue is a Microcenter issue I beg to differ.
The manufacturer owns the product and provides warranty. Both manufacturers and retailers have to do their duty to clarify things for the consumers.

Now this is very simple it is about discrimination due to the point of sale.

If you don’t like the word or disagree please just leave your comments politely without personal attacks and let’s move on.

I like the printer and I am ready to spend money on their filaments. Even considering the purchase of X1E now.

Just very surprised about the different treatment received for the same printer whether it is purchased online or at the retail.

I am not trashing the product. It’s about Customer Service and Customer Experience.
