Bambu Lab has just announced the upcoming printer with a teaser, locked to avoid comments of likely disappointment.

It appears to be a H2D with the benefits it brought mostly removed.
Given the Snapmaker multi tool changer has just been announced, we must all be wondering, why hasn’t Bambu Lab developed one of these.
The market leader is now playing catch up with a game plan.
The H2D was an ok printer, lots of promise, less in reality, far more bugs and breakdowns than should be expected for a company that previously prided itself their products “just work”.
The dial nozzle was cute, but not as useful as the IDEX I had years ago. I don’t like the idea of putting lasers and cutters inside a machine that requires precision that dust and fibres actively stops.
Then there were the delays, that still persist with parts and upgrades.
All this when multi tool changers are now a thing.
I will say, the Snapmaker hasn’t made it to market yet, but the brand has a track record for quality. I know, so did other companies as I highlighted above.
If they can create a four head, auto everything printer for less than the X series and BL can’t, there is a problem.
A big problem.
I know what you are thinking, at least Bambu Lab can make it up with great customer service, right. Sorry, I almost choked myself trying to type that while not dying of laughter.
It looks like we should expect a cut down H2D with an expected (by me) price tag above the X series while the market is shifting to actual tool changing, true multi material models.
My two cents.
