Over a year of replies and still no native iPad app or Bambu Studio for iPad - every iPad since 2023 are m series chips and are as powerful as MacBook - I would love to be able to run Bambu Studio on my iPad Pro M4 this device is as good as Mac and some causes better. Come on Bambu make this app happen so your users can be even more capable.
@Bambu Lab - I would love and pay for BL Studio for IPad
Pls develop it.
If the original poster would add tags for Bambu Handy Feature Request and Bambu Studio Feature Request; maybe @BambuLab would notice it?
Is there future plans to have Bambu Studios put in the iPad App Store? My self and thousands of others would find this more convenient than to work on prints on a PC.
30.2k people have viewed the mention on the Bambu wiki titled " Bambu Studio for iPad". The feedback if put on the iPad would be astronomically positive. This would encourage small businesses and upcoming hobbyists that don’t have a PC get on board and buy a printer from the company. @BambuLab
My contrarian opinion:
I do my designs on my Mac Studio in Fusion 360, and so it’s a simple matter of exporting the .3MFs from Fusion and then opening them in Bambu Studio on that same machine.
Slicing on the iPad would mean an extra step, probably saving the files from the Mac to iCloud and then opening them on the iPad from iCloud. But why would I do the slicing the iPad when I can do them on the Mac?
I have Shapr3d, I create my 3D models on my iPad and for me it would be perfect. You could also change a few parameters when slicing models from Makerworld and then print them.
So in summary you’re happy with what you’ve got but question what others may want. I don’t understand your comment. The idea is to have an iOS studio for people that don’t want to carry a computer with them everywhere they go. I do the same thing as you on my Mac but I also want the versatility on my IPad as well if I’m in a hammock. I’m on my IPad more than my Mac so it would be much easier for me to multi colors using my Apple pen to paint. The idea is also for kids that saved up to put together there P1P or mini and can’t afford a $1,500 laptop or desktop.
The printer is literally in the same room as my computer. And it’s not like I can carry the printer to wherever I want to go!
Anyway, I spend a LOT more time in Fusion than I do in the slicer. Once the design is complete, it’s a simple import into Bambu Studio, followed by splaying multiple parts (if necessary), laying the parts on their proper faces, and finally choosing the proper filament from the list in the AMS. Then it’s a button press to slice (and slicing takes only a few seconds), a second press to send the design to the printer, and done. If I’m in Bambu Studio for more than a couple of minutes, it’s because there’s something wrong.
Hello everyone,
I’m the developer of the iOS/Android slicer app called “Pikaslice” and I’ve recently added profiles for all Bambu Lab machines to the app (only available in the beta version), but so far have only tested them on my A1 Mini.
There’s a beta group on Apple TestFlight (iOS only; Android users will get the full release after the beta phase) with a number of slots available, that’s running for the next 2-3 weeks. You can sign up here (it’s free) and use the app on up to 5 different devices as long as they all use the same Apple ID, so please just grab one slot and let others get a chance to try it too. FYI before you can export files other than the bundled calibration prints you need to “buy” a subscription, but as it’s a TestFlight version, the official Apple dialog will state that the payment happens in a sandbox and you won’t be charged.
EDIT: Can’t post the link to the open TestFlight group, so just send me your email address here, on the Pikaslice discord, the Pikaslice Reddit or the Pikaslice email adress (mail [at] pikaslice [dot] com)
Please stay with your machine while doing the first runs. There’s currently only support for single-color printing, multi-color will come with the next update of the app.
Current workflow for me: slicing the scene to a .3mf file and then transferring it to the printer via a FTPS application using the workflow found in this forum (can’t link it for some reason).
I can see the file in the Bambu Handy App (Menu: Device → SD Card), but can only select and start it on the machine itself (so far). Maybe someone can figure out which parameter/flag etc. I’m missing for it to be printable via the Bambu Handy App.
I know this ain’t Bambu Studio and I know that some people will balk at the ~USD 5 subscription per month, but it’s the only way I can work on this app full-time. I’m open to getting aqui-hired and who knows - maybe the app will be free in the future?
I’m absolutely open to developing features in conjunction with the Bambu community and would be deliriously happy to actually work with the folks from Bambu Labs themselves.
Cheers
I’ve seen somebody else post links; can’t I post links because I’m a new account?

Ah, couldn’t post links due to being a new account. Here’s the link to the Apple TestFlight group.
I have the M2 iPad Pro. I use Shapr3D for the iPad so it would be nice to just use my iPad to also slice and print my projects.
But even w/o slicing, a proper iPad adoption of the phone version, running in landscape mode and making proper use of the larger screen real estate would be much appreciated. iOS offers so many easy tools, features and APIs for devs to make an app run perfectly on any device format and orientation…
This! It drives me insane that handy is locked to portrait and giant on my iPad.
I can’t agree more…IPad pro with the M4 chip, more power then many of the MacBooks out there now…so many IPads out there, many tablets being used for actual design work for other applications…but it seems it is ignored by Bambu and other 3D printer companies
We want an iPad app please!!!
Try Jump Desktop. It’s the fastest iPad screen-sharing app. You can make BS full screen from you mac/pc. It will work over the internet. You can use a bluetooth mouse or an apple pencil.
I know this isn’t the same as native…but it works well enough that I have done video editing in Premiere this way without issue.
I would absolutely love this addition
Native means designed specifically for the device. In this case, the issue with the Bambu Handy app on iPad is that it appears sideways on an iPad if you are using a keyboard (which is the most common use case). If they don’t want to build a native iPad version, they should at least create a webview that is responsive, as that is a baseline requirement for accessibility anyways –
This wouldn’t be for you then.
