Bambu Lab X1C strange noise

My X1C printer is making a strange noise. I cleaned the carbon rods last week, and this is only my second print since then. The noise occurs intermittently and seems to happen mostly during faster movements.

I’ve recorded a short video of the issue: https://youtube.com/shorts/7_mBnrKGh30?si=pGZiPUqu2VIqArB5

Could it be that the bearings need lubrication? I’d appreciate any insights or suggestions.

I don’t hear anything that sounds strange or unusual.

Depending on the model and its resolution, circular motions can sometimes cause audible sounds due to the way the printer interprets and executes the path. That said, nothing in your short clip sounds abnormal.

Did you recalibrate the printer after cleaning it?

I had the same noise on my X1C the other day. It turned out that I needed to do two things.

  1. Adjust the tension on my belts that drives the head…

  2. Clean the Carbon rods with alcohol and a paper towel.

I have over 2500 hours on my printer, and it’s been working great until then. After all of the adjustments and cleaning, everything is fine again.

Now at times my X1C will “sing” to me. this is due in part to the extruder fan blowing across the infill at 100%. Get the right infill and you get a rather catchy tune.

I cleaned the carbon rods recently and I’ve never adjusted the tension rods. I’ll give that a try
Thanks!
