Bamboo recently changed their basic PLA. The the box has changed and filament itself is slightly more shiny now. These changes I can live with. What I can’t live with is that now my prints are extremely stringy and fuzzy. I’ve definitely experienced some minor stringing before, but it hasn’t been this bad, and I’ve never had these big clumps of fuzz that hang off the prints. I tried drying some of them in my AMS 2, and it didn’t seem to help much. I never had to dry the old PLA before printing. Has anyone else had issues with this new PLA? I’m very upset at bamboo for switching to this junk.

Jade white. I use about 50 rolls of jade white a month so it wasn’t a one off. Every new roll has consistently had the problem.
People have speculated that black and white, being the most popular, were ones that Bambu Lab have tried to swap out with their own production.
I’ve been dealing with subpar filament and believe it’s a manufacturing defect rather than a material change. Three TPU spools had inconsistent diameter and significant moisture; I had to dry them for more than 48 hours and discard about one-third of each spool.

I’ve also used a bit of Sunlu (which many argue is who BL get their filament from) and no issues with that. Actually found Anycubic filament to be pretty good as well.
Since BL doesn’t manufacture their filament it’s hard to say what’s up with it. I can just state I’ve had no issues and leave it there.
I will say that a BL silk presented an issue for me. I sat it aside and haven’t investigated further. I really suspect moisture.
Many do but it isn’t based on anything rational. In the US, Sunlu and Bambu Lab share the same west coast distributor, 3PX, who simply reuse the boxes they have on hand when they run out of Bambu ones. So people get Bambu in Sunlu and Sunlu in Bambu (not the new Bambu outbound boxes, the inbound ones which hold 10kg). Sometime they’ll re-use the inbound Bambu boxes, often taped up because they open them like madmen slashing a big X across the face instead of cutting open the flaps. Which is where the razor marks on your filament box ends come from.
A few years ago it was all esun and polymaker but they appear to have diversified a bit now so I couldn’t say for sure where everything is coming from.
I don’t think PLA has that many different formulations to matter. Now there is some bad filament out there. Usually I find it’s more along the lines of poor diameter consistency and soaked out of the box. Sometimes it so brittle it may be older than me too.
Between the brand names I’ve not really run into anything that will make me say one is leaps and bounds over the other. I prefered BL because it wasn’t that much more and I got the convenience of the RFID.
Because of price I switched to Sunlu and even Anycubic. Elegoo, Overture, Polymaker at times, usually what I can get at a decent price. All work very well with the BL profiles or the Generic. Enough that I’m not going to spend time trying to tweak them.
You’re right though. It’s not been proven Sunlu is BL or vice versa.
have you attempted drying the filament since if it is stringing it mmight be because it is wet
