I am installing the Linux version of Bambu Studio and there is a message on home screen of Studio saying Bambu Network plug-in not detected click here to install it.
The word here being a hyperlink. It launches the installer, does installer things culminating with a message saying something to the effect of Plug-in has been installed successfully.
I reboot but plug-in not installed will not clear.
Where is that plug-in supposed to be located?
Where would the plug-in be pulled from by the local installer. Is it located in Github or some other repository.
Can’t offer a solution but there are a few threads on GitHub about this issue. One suggests that “There’s no ARM64 version of the plugin:” but not sure if this is relavent to you.
I haven’t fully reviewed CoC yet so hopefully not breaking any rules by posting outside links
I did some Google sleuthing earlier today and it turns out that aarch64 and arm64 are different names for the same thing. Now this is way out there beyond my knowledge level.
My initial questions were along the lines of What is the difference between ARM64 and AARCH64? , along with Do smartphones use Arm64? or Do smartphones use aarch64 and finally ***
In the context of my original question, and the replies I got, I’m more confused than ever.
Bambu Lab says they have versions of Bambu Studio for Windows, Apple and Linux.
Again this is out past my knowledge level but there seem to be a riduculous number of flavors of Linux and if Aarch64 and Arm64 are the same thing, the problem appears to me that there is some difference between the Linux versions Bambu chose to support and in my case, Debianwhich is or was the foundation of Raspberry Pi
Yes, it seems quite the rabbitt hole. And really, all you need is the network-plugin for your OS. The plugin is used by Bambu studio but I don’t know if it is technically part of Bambu studio. The general impression I got (which could be totally wrong) is that yes there is a Bambu studio for Linux but for some versions at least there is no plugin. So you may need to ask support if they have the network-plugin for your specific version of the OS. You may also luck out and find a forum or user group that uses BambuLab products and can point you at a repository or source that does have the plugin. My history with Linux is very small, sorry not to be of more help.

Used to be the Linux people would talk smack to Windows users which usually boiled down to Windows is junk, all those DLL’s and .conf files blah-blah-blah.
Now those folks have a dozen different flavors of the OS itself because (I assume) John Doe and his true believers didn’t like what Sam Smith and his followers were doing with Linux so they branched off with the expectation everyone would follow them.
Instead, we are now on Windows 11, while Linux has all these distro’s it is a roll of the dice as to what flavor of the OS is the the one to use.
