I’ve had my P1S for about 18 months and it’s been great overall. Recently I have had a problem that has me stumped.
Initially I was getting some prints that would seem to shift/skew at a random height. Eventually I found that the bed had some side to side wobble which I figured was causing it. (See video in Imgur link above)
I found which bolts will make the print bed stay in place with no wobble. After tightening those, though, I get a consistent offset, even at the first layer. (See image in Imgur – this is happening every single time.)
Things I’ve tried also include
bed tensioning test per Bambu wiki
cleaning the carbon rods
printing much more slowly
brand new sdcard
Does anyone have any other suggestions for getting this working?
First time posting and I didn’t realize what it would do with the Imgur link. It looks to have embedded the video. This reply should have the 2nd image I was trying to provide.
Do you have a small square (90 deg) to check the rod is perpendicular in X & Y? You would have to run the bed to the top to check with the base as a reference.
You might review the heated bed replacement wiki to see what things they reference to verify it is in alignment.
Okay so at the top of at least the two threaded rods in the front, they seem to have a really flimsy rubber cover on them and nothing else. I didn’t see any ball bearings at all. Do you know if there’s a document about these ball bearings somewhere?
I thought I would post a general update here since my support ticket has had some updates, though I would not say things are resolved yet.
Basically what we’ve found is that the printer seems to work okay if there’s only one model on the print bed, but as soon as I add a second model, the layer shift happens every time.
I don’t know if there’s a known situation that covers this, but just in case that rings any bells for anyone, let me know! Or, hopefully official support has some idea of how to fix it. They are responding steadily, but not necessarily quickly.
