Bambu PETG HF showing banding in sync with wall details

I’ve got a couple dozen prints on my A1 with Bambu PLA and PETG HF. Previously I have not had any problems with PETG HF from filament clips, through a Benchy, to the substantial AMS Lite NO-SCREW-SNAP-ON Top Mount for A1 - Free 3D Print Model - MakerWorld

In printing Compact poop bucket L (A1, A1 mini) - Free 3D Print Model - MakerWorld I see banding that is at the same layers as the holes in the side. I am guessing that this is related to those layers taking much longer to print that the ones without holes. Past that, I could use some suggestions as to what to adjust to try to eliminate this kind of defect in the future.

It was printed using the 0.20 mm Standard @BBL A1 with Bambu PETG HF selected as the filament. 2 Wall loops (default) and I don’t see indications of any overrides.

[Edit: I had reopened a copy of the project that was not loaded into Bambu Studio. I have edited the below to reflect what I believe to the be the profile overrides and details in use]

Other layers speed shows:

Outer wall: 50 mm/s
Inner wall: 50 mm/s
Small perimeters: 50% (default)
Sparse infill: 90mm/s
Internal solid infill: 90 mm/s
Top surface: 90 mm/s
Gap infill: 90 mm/s

Slow down for overhangs
Slow down for curled perimeters

Seam: Back
Smart scarf seam application (default)
Scarf joint for inner walls (default)

I just went through this issue on an H2D! For me it was the pre start fan time in the fillament settings. It is set to 2 seconds, I switched it to 0 seconds and the prints turned out much better. Original user who helped me was @hotellonely, just figured I would give credit where due if it helps you.

Thanks for the pointer. I think the thread and post you referred to is Layer shifts with solid layers or patterns? On vertical walls - #11 by hotellonely Clearly explained there is why eliminating the pre start fan time makes sense for PETG and this kind of overhang-rich printing.

I’m giving it a shot.

Here is Bambu Slicer defaults, including the 2 s pre start fan time

[Setting the pre start fan time to zero,] Bambu Slicer now shows the fan speed as generally constant at its 30% baseline.

Changing the pre start fan time to zero cleaned up the banding and didn’t seem to have significant impact on the overhang/bridge appearance on the holes. I do see some defects in the raised logo, but figuring out how to locally modify the parameters will be a learning experience for another day.
