Work issue again! We’re using Bambu filament and it came with the reusable spools. We finished one job for a patron using purple, changed out the filament color for red, and when we went to put the purple filament back on we couldn’t twist it. It’s like the filament has expanded out and no matter how hard we push we can’t get the spool ends close enough to tighten it shut. Is there a way to switch out between filaments, or do we need to buy more reusable spools so we have access to all the colors we need as it’s impossible to place a used spool once it has been taken out? Thank you!
That’s the best way to go. They really aren’t meant to be taken back off a spool after you cut those straps that are holding it together. Even if you managed to get the spool to lock in place after you swapped the filament you would probably run into tangles and such.
Believe me, you’re going to have those refillable spools coming out of your ears before you know it.

Another option is to print reusable spools. I have printed several and use them everyday. The ones I print are <200 grams of filament. I use PETG so I can put them in my dehydrator to dry the filament on them.

dont remove a filament from the spool unless you can see the paper… it will a nightmare to put it back on a spool… make some spools (cheaper then buying them…)
