The P2S uses a different plate ID system. The old plates can be used but the P2S won’t be able to automatically ID them.

X1C is not recognizing the “new” smooth engineering plate either, which seems weird , as

  • the plate is sold as an X1C plate
  • A1 and P1 printers are compatible, even they’re supposed to be lower specs
current answer for X1C is “wait for X1C firmware update”

no clue is the P2S will receive similar ability

Bambu has an annoying habit of releasing hardware and the required firmware or software at different times.

The store page for the new X1C engineering plate has always warned that the firmware would be released later:

The machine code for startup sounds has been in the X1C Machine start G-code for well over a year, but the firmware has not yet been provided.

yes, I start to get the idea on hard/soft syncronization

I could have missed it, but I’m almost sure the warning about the delay was not on the page when I bought the engineering plates, and was added later
So I’ll be back in my corner awaiting the firmware update
