Bambu Studio 02.00.02.57 not working on Windows 7?

After updating to the latest version of Bambu Studio (02.00.02.57), the app no longer launches on Windows 7. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I’m wondering whether this is:

  • just a temporary bug in this specific release,
  • or if this marks the official end of Windows 7 support going forward?

Has anyone found a workaround or seen anything in the changelog or documentation confirming this? If staying on an older version is the solution, which version still works reliably?

:speech_balloon: Any info would be greatly appreciated!

It’s really disappointing because the previous version worked flawlessly on Windows 7. The company’s decision seems at least strange — as if they completely ignored users of older operating systems.

Since windows 7 isn’t supported by it’s own manufacturer since over 5 years now (jan 2020), you can’t say that’s unreasonable, they probably do not run tests on windows 7 at all. In fact, even it’s direct successor, windows 10, is now almost end of life.

Apart from that, I can only advise you to update to an os that gets security updates, if it’s at all connected to the internet or a network.

@vg1 We have just released a new bugfix version for Bambu Studio
Please try again to confirm if this solves your problem.

With that said, it is strongly recommended to update your OS to a more recent version.
