Bambu Studio 2.3.0.70 not working on windows 7

The new update of Bambu Lab Studio version 2.3.0.70 causes the application to crash immediately upon startup. This issue occurs especially on Windows 7, where the previous version 2.2.2.56 worked perfectly fine.

If you are using Windows 7, do not update to version 2.3.0.70 until the developer fixes this problem.
It’s recommended to stay on the stable 2.2.2.56 release, which runs correctly and does not crash at launch.

:pushpin: Please let us know if anyone has found a workaround or can confirm similar behavior.

I can confirm - seeing exactly the same.

Honest question, why would you expect a fix when Windows 10 is the minimum system requirement? You’re not one but two versions of Windows below that.

it works on fkin linux why the heckie would you run windows 7

i’m sorry but your os is old enough that this counts as elder abuse.

Ouch… that hits close to home given I used to pirate Win95 discs back in the day and cut my teeth on MS DOS. :joy:

I don’t mean to be rude! I’m a late 90s child and my first personal machine was a greyscale lcd laptop with windows 3.1 that I fished out of a dumpster and installed 95 on it with one singular floppy I kept removing and putting back into the family PC to place the next image onto it. X)

I don’t blame anyone for not wanting to and/or being unable to use Windows 11.

Honest answer: previous versions worked perfectly fine on Windows 7, so it’s a shame that this one doesn’t. It’s a bit surprising that the minimum requirements suddenly jumped to Windows 10.

It’s sentimentality — it works great, so why change it?

So continue using the previous version? If you want the latest and greatest then you will need to update your operating system.

The official minimum requirement for Studio on Windows has always been 64-bit Windows 10.

Be grateful that Studio ever worked on Windows 7.

For those who haven’t kept up with tech news; Windows 10 also went out of support on October 14th this year unless you purchased an Extended Security Update program.

The issue is occurring on Windows 11 as well.

Working on 11 here. Have you attempted a full uninstall/reinstall?

Yes, a couple of times on two different computers under both Win10 and Win11. No luck. Rolled back to the previous version.

Bugs happen. They’ll fix it.

Yes. There are several open tickets on their github regarding the issue

Do you have an Nvidia graphics card? If so it could be the culprit. Search for Nvidia on the forum.
