Bambu Studio 2.4 Extremely Slow

Hello Everyone,

I am having serious issues with Bambu Studio slowing down my computers. It’s become so slow, the software is nearly unusable as is the computer as long as Bambu Studio is open.

I’m running Bambu studio 2.4 currently, but it’s been an ongoing issue for the last 4 or 5 updates, getting progressively worse with each update and time. I have a ticket open with Bambu (has been for several weeks now with no help).

I’m running windows 10 on the following system:
AMD Threadripper 3960x
128gb RAM
3070ti GPU
1tb Samsung 990 Pro

Another computer is running Windows 11:
Intel I9 13900H
32gb ram
RTX 4080
1tb m.2 drive

Bambu studio is particularly slow when doing anything with text, coloring, rotating a model, selecting a model, and/or moving a model.

Slicing times are fine. reverting to older versions changes nothing. Clean install changes nothing.

Any ideas? Hard to run a business when the proprietary software doesn’t work.

Same here, almost same system as you.
Slicing as well takes way too long!

I am a new Bambu user as of one week. The initial version I had was fast. Today I was prompted to download a new version of Bambu studio shortly after I was prompted to download a firmware update for my P2S. It is significantly slower, almost unusable. Takes the shine off my new fantastic hardware. Since others have has this issue for many updates I suspect it might be due to how cumulative updates are handled over time.

Same here, I don’t think it’s related with hardware.
Functions like live view and switching tabs in the bambu studio also get stuck all the time. This doesn’t happen on Bambu Handy, so it doesn’t seem to be a printer problem.

2 things that worked for me

  • Removing ~/.config/BambuStudio
  • Formatting the sdcard (suddenly the sdcard was showing an error, 1 day ago it didn’t have any error)

I’m running a similar system as your windows 10, the only slow down i get is after slicing and then it would almost lock my computer, other than that it runs good. I did a complete uninstall and reinstalled the previous version to fix it

Something similiar to me!!!

Everything is working fine while I’m using BambuStudio, but suddenly, after some minutes of work (slicing, modifing plates, adding object…) all the system lags.
Mouse moves at the same speed, but clicks are veeeeeery delayed. CPU usage is fine, RAM too. And this remains also after I close BambuStudio. Logs say nothing….I don’t know what BS hits on Windows to have such weird behaviour.

mine is doing exactly the same as yours. not sure whats going on but i have to restart my pc to get things back to normal.

I think my first troubleshooting step would be to install the current release, 2.5.0.66.

Same problem here, It doesn’t happens always but when it happens it almost freeze the computer, my pc:

Windows 11 updated until 01/2026

RTX 3070

Ryzen 5600X

Bambu studio 2.5.0.66

32GB ram

IDK, what else can we say/do?

Usages: CPU: 10% GPU: 1% RAM: 50%
they are not in full usage. :upside_down_face:

Join our group…waiting for a fix.. lol

Hi All! I was having the same problems, this is how I fixed it.

  1. Go to “Add Remove Programs” search for “Visual”. This will bring up all the visual studio applications.

  2. For each one click the … menu. If you get a “Modify” option, click that and repair the install. In the case of the Visual Studio Installer, ensure you are up to date with all applications listed.

Hope that helps! It helped me. I am not sure which was causing the problem, but I think it was the Visual Studio Installer files being out of date.
