Does anyone have any solutions for constant crashing on Bambu Studio? I use an iMac and it happens regularly.
It doesn’t crash that often for me (on a Mac). In another discussion, somebody suspects it could have to do with the use of tree supports.
I usually try to avoid printing things that require supports, so it may (or may not) be related.
Pretty much same with me. I generally print only my own designs, most of which don’t need supports. I think it’s crashed maybe once or twice since I got my Bambu early this year. (I’m on a Mac as well)
From my experience when bambu-studio is crashing, it helps to set processor affinity down to something like 50% of your cpu cores.
You can do this possibly via standard task manager or as I use: Process Explorer from Sysinternals.
It is also doable via Powershell.
There may be more approaches, the internet will tell you
For me, on Linux it seems to crash mostly when clicking auto arrange.
Only recently has Studio begun crashing on my MacBook Pro. Usually it happens when I send a print job to the printer. So far, the program restarts just fine and the print job makes it to the printer. It is annoying though.
That’s exactly what happens to me and it began quite a few months ago when I changed from a P1S to an X1C. Very annoying!
I have the same problem but with files exceeding 500 MB most of the time, Bambu studio has trouble managing the bytes and it’s really painful for me!
It does crash on me sometimes, usually after starting a print when it’s changing to the Device tab automatically, not all the time though only sometime
What is interesting is that orca never crashes, even sharing the same code base
On Mac Sonoma, Studio M2, it crashes about every 3rd time I send something to one of my 4 printers. I cannot tie the occurrence to any particular spec in the prints.
It is at least half the time with me on Sequoia.
Same for me… all… the… time… right after sending the job… macbook pro macos 15.2
No solution after 2 months on my Mac Mini with Sequoia 15.1.1.
I’ve just about had it with Bambu Studio. It now crashes about half the time and I’m thoroughly frustrated with it. Any recommendations? I am nowhere near the level of many on this site so an easy learning curve would be appreciated.
I can get it to crash pretty reliably when switching Wi-Fi networks between phone hotspot (or any other network, really) and a WLAN where the printer is connected but has no Internet connection. I’m constantly typing in the 8-digit code (it never remembers), and the app is CONSTANTLY crashing when trying to retrieve data or send a print.
That’s my experience so far. I have not noticed much crashing aside from this.
Mine crashes frequently. I’m running Sequoia 15.2 on Mac mini M4. Usually happens after I hit send. Frustrating.
I’m thinking about trying Orca Slicer but I’m not looking forward to re-learning.
I’m trying to import a STL from blender, crashes immediately on import. Also tried OBJ. I even tried importing the default cube. Immediate crash. No lights. No Cameras. Nothing fancy. Just a cube. CRASH
