I am printing lots of Gridfinity bins on our H2D and H2S printers. On the H2S printers I noticed that in a lot of places they have these weird seems with lots of extra material.
While printing you can see it do a quick back and forth at the seam, which causes the extra material.
I just checked in Bambu Studio what the slicer is doing at that point to cause this and I can see it doing a Retract - Wipe - Unretract right next to the seam and over the outer wall, which causes the extra material to build up:
In that case I think then it might be a bug in the firmware of the printer, because it does not just do a retract - wipe - unretract, but it actually goes back and forth, like its going over the area twice, leading to a build up of material.
Seems something like that its going round doing the wall, but its going the other way, so now it has to cross over itself, do the retract, go back, unretract and then continue going over the area a third time.
Interestingly this seems to be an issue only on the H2S with the 0.6 high flow nozzle. On the H2D with the 0.4 high flow nozzle the same objects prints without any visible defects.
I have and its not quite doing what the printer actually does (see video). Or rather, its probably doing what it is showing in the G Code, but it just messes up the seams, because it seems rather than ironing the seam it just pushes the material it overlaps to the side. I would like to just disable this feature completely. In their wiki you can see there used to be a setting for wipe speed.
Weirdly on the H2D I am not seeing those print results. The same objects print fine with almost no seam visible.
So I am thinking its actually something wrong in the H2S firmware.
