Started getting more and more lock ups when using Bambu Studio so instead of waiting for it to corrupt my everyday computer I installed it on a “spare” tower running W11.
It crashes a lot less but the workflow going from tower to tower is a real PITA.
Not the “Premium” printing experience I was expecting.
Edit: To be fair, it seems like it’s gotten worse with every W11 update.
All of these processes - CAD, mesh and slicing - are very CPU-intensive. It seems like your PC might be too weak. Have you checked your CPU temperature to see if that could be the source of the problem?
They’re all based on Slic3r - Bambu, Orca and Pursa - and the basis is actually pretty well tested. Of course, you’ll sometimes find bugs, but will your PC crash completely? Rarely.
I would install a temperature and workload indicator and see what’s going on.
You can also see the workload in Task Manager in Windows. Strg+Shift+Esc
While it hasn’t crashed my computer, it did lock up(the program) while slicing a color lithophane. It finally just closed after killing it. So had a bug somewhere, windows 11 latest build.
