I know it’s me but I really find as a newbie that Bambu Studio is not intuitive. Perhaps playing with Tinkercad first was a mistake but I find doing things on there so much more straightforward. Let me ellaborate.
I make a primitive Cone, I only really want the bottom part of this cone so I cut the top part off , so far so good. I don’t want the top part but can’t get rid of it as although it now sits beside the base part it appears to still be part of the same object so deleting it would delete it all. My logic says to make the unwanted part a negative part but “Change Type” doesn’t exist ( when I need it). This is the first hurdle on what should be simple task. God help me when I want to do the more intricate parts.
It’s clunky because it’s not a CAD program. The primitives in a slicer aren’t really intended for serious usage. Most folks use something like Tinkercad, Onshape, Fusion, or FreeCAD.
Something like the Cut feature exists mostly for manipulating existing models, such as to split it in half for better printing due to more favorable overhangs.
