Recently I’ve noticed that every time I open my computer after having a print running, Studio will not connect to my X1C and thinks the previous print job is still running. I’ve tried quitting Studio entirely (I’m on a Mac) and this will resolve it. That is frustrating when you have a multi-plate print and have custom settings. Has anyone else noticed similar behavior? Seems like a bug. This started about a month ago, but hard to say as I haven’t been printing a lot lately due to life getting in the way.
There are quite a few issues with the new Studio.
I’ve noticed that it no longer connects automatically when the application starts. It really should remember the last connected printer and reconnect to it, but right now I have to go to the Device tab every single time for it to establish a connection.
As for your issue:
Switching to another printer (even an offline one) and then switching back sometimes fixes it. If that doesn’t work, the only workaround I’ve found is restarting Studio entirely. Not ideal, but for now it’s the only thing that consistently works.
On top of that, have you seen any strange print behaviour or unexpected failures?
If you have, check your process profiles. The latest Studio release can revert your custom process settings back to some older defaults, and that can easily cause failed prints or poor results.
I have encountered the same new, undesired behavior on my Mac. The print completed fine, but when moving onto the next print job, Bambu Studio reports the printer is in use. The only solution I have found is to close all instance of Bambu Studio, relaunch and that has reset it. I often had 2 or more instances running with models I am looking at.
Hopefuly they address this issue in an upcoming release, as it is something that seems to just have just introduced into the app.
No idea if its the same problem or not - but My X1C, sometime in the last couple days, put itself into LAN Only mode, making itself unavailable. Had to turn off LAN Only mode, log the printer itself out, and log it back in, then it became available again. I suspect a cloud service outage triggered this - but Bambu’s status page shows no record of any outages.
And on a friend’s X1C right now, the printer shows as being connected in bambu studio, he can send commands to the printer - like calibration. But when sending a print it wants a log-in and fails.
So if your problem is new - i think Bambu broke something. Hopefully they’re aware.
I hate having to go to the device tab to reconnect EVERY TIME I open the software. It’s really annoying.
Still also having random crashing all the time. I reverted back to 2.3.0.70 and it worked fine for a couple hours, now is crashing regularly like 2.03.01.51
My H2D has for some time now insisted on setting all AI detections to Medium, even though I normally run them on High. Makes me wonder what they’re actually doing on their end.
