Bambu Studio not respecting max volumetric speed limit

So here I’m looking at a specific infill extrusion. I’m using the 0.3 mm Standard profile for my H2D, with no speed modifications. Printing in Elegoo PETG HF using a 0.6 mm HF nozzle. I’ve set the max volumetric speed limit in the filament profile to 60 mm^3/s.

Layer height @0.3 mm

Line width @0.62 mm

Despite this, the infill prints at 360 mm/s, which according to my calculations corresponds to a flow rate of 66.96 mm^3/s! So around 10% faster than the limit.

Is this a bug or a feature?

What’s weird is that the flow rate is reported as being 57 mm^3/s

It would seem that by manually setting the sparse infill speed to 300 mm/s, down from 600 mm/s, has directly affected the print speed… Which is to be expected.

Still, what bugs me is that now I can’t completely trust the slicer to do what I’m telling it to. Someone tell me if I’m misunderstanding something about printing infill, as I’m just confused at this point.

Besides max flow rate, the basic flow rate also needs to come into play in your hand calculation. Not sure if it’ll cover the full mismatch, but it is likely at least a good part of the explanation.
