Has anyone else tried updating Bambu Studio to v 2.5.0.66?
When I try to open it now it crashes.
I cant raise a support request because uploading a printer log is mandatory and I have no log since I cant open the app.

Ok, by ignoring the error I can still click some buttons on the app in the background.
It says âBambu network plugin not detected. Click here to download itâ
I click it and I see this
I click to see more info and the website IS accessible at step.2 and downloads 3 dllâs.
I paste the 3 dll files into C:\xxxxxxx\xxxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\BambuStudio\plugins as per the instructions and overwrite the existing dllâs.
I open Bambu Studio and this time it detects my user and looks like its going to start, then it crashes again
When I try Step.5 I get this:
{âmessageâ:âsuccessâ,âcodeâ:null,âerrorâ:null,âsoftwareâ:{âtypeâ:null,âversionâ:â02.05.00.66â,âdescriptionâ:â###https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/software/bambu-studio/release/release-note-2-5-0-hotfix###",âurlâ:âhttps://public-cdn.bblmw.com/upgrade/studio/software/02.05.00.66/ecbc9115c3/Bambu_Studio_win-v02.05.00.66.exeâ,âforce_updateâ:false},âguideâ:null,"resourcesâ:}
There was a configuration update today that crashed Studio (for me) and then studio wouldnât open.
Downloaded and reinstalled Studio it worked fine.
Thanks,
I have downloaded and installed, then uninstalled, restarted my computer, downloaded again, installed again. Then did it all again. It wont load
@Bambulabs @BambuLab
I cant find a list of previous versions available for download.
When I uninstalled I didnât delete user data because I dont want to lose all my filament presets. But thats the only thing I can think to tryâŚ.
I tried âRun the official fix script from Bambu Lab:
https://wiki.bambulab.com/software/fix-bambu-studio.bat
This backs up and removes the old config so Studio can start fresh. [Studio not loading]â
It looked like this was going to work. Until it said it was syncing my data from Bambu Cloud, then I saw the same failure message again:
All previous versions are on the github. Releases ¡ bambulab/BambuStudio ¡ GitHub
Thank you! I found the logs and will raise a support ticket also.
Ugh, I installed 2.5.0.64 and I get the same error.
Update: Ok, by removing user data when I uninstall, I can reinstall and it will run. But on reinstall, if I ask it to sync my data from the cloud it crashes again. So the update clearly corrupted my user data.
That I havenât seen. Iâd suggest a ticket. There was a direction to uninstall c:user/appdata/ and from there I canât remember if it was local or roaming etc. It was supposed to help with a crashing instance that was plaguing some. There was also reference to a video driver issue that would be solved similarly.
I apologize I canât dig it out atm.
No problem, I appreciate your help. Pointing me to the github repo helped me get back up and running, even if I do have to recreate my user presets. Thanks a million. ![]()
To help anyone else who finds this in future.
I have been using âDevelopâ mode which was turned on when I saved some of my presets. Iâm guessing this caused a conflict with the update release.
UPDATE: Development Mode may be irrelevant to the problem
Thanks for your help folks,
If you are just âguessingâ developer mode when saving presets is the issue I think we NEED to know if thats the case.
Iâm stuck here too, everything works until I bring in my sync⌠developer mode being off does not help⌠plus I use those features in developer mode. Tried two computers, tried deleting all app data and re installing several times. Something corrupted and I canât access any of my hard work!
Even tried an older version, that has the same issue.
Itâs only accessing my cloud data, when running without none of my presets and it disabled it works fine.
Im sorry youre still experiencing this. It really was a pain. Here is exactly how I fixed it (Option.1). Youre correct,I dont know what caused it, Im just glad its working again.
Well⌠I know how to make it work WITHOUT my presets but thats the problem here⌠I do not want to lose all those months tweaking my filament settings and presets⌠I went through rolls of filament just testing. By the sounds of reading everyone in our boat now has to start from scratch? This is REALLY badâŚ
When I save the presets and export them⌠the folder comes up empty. So I canât delete them all, resync the cloud and dump them back in!
I can tool around in there with the error up but not closing the program⌠I guess iâm going to have to take pictures of everything? I guess its not the worst thing in the world but I have a feeling bambu is still going to need to fix something on my profile.
tried saving a new preset to the cloud and it killed it to⌠so wonât that just keep happening?
I just saw this popup in germen as well⌠seems like they killed us with the new update?
Your presets are saved in C: in a folder called C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\BambuStudio\user
As part of the diagnosis process I needed to delete this and it is automatically regenerated on startup. So take a copy first just in case. Then delete it and start BS offline with no Internet connection.
AppData is a hidden folder, so you need to show hidden files to see it.
But take a copy of the user folder before fiddling with it just in case.
I ended up not needing to recreate my filament presets, it turned out to just be an issue with the process presets sync. When I synced with my printer, it pulled them back down from the cloud automatically and they are working. See below. (I should have just shared my entire Claude chat at the start!
)
So to summarise, this is what worked for me (Try at your own risk!):
If you see any errors just click X or ok while doing this.
Unfortunately I deleted those like 5 fresh installs ago as the internet said that could be a fix⌠how do I get them back?
I dont know. If youre lucky there might be a copy in the Cloud. Maybe ask Bambu Support if there is a cloud copy still available.
Yeah I have a ticket open⌠still waiting for the next response.
I wonder if I re sync, get the error I will get all that stuff re populated?
I suppose the tedious way to do it would be to do that, deleting one setting over and over again until I delete the bad one LOL! What a night that would be
Bambu got back. They said they released a new preset package and to install it and it should fix it⌠Iâve never heard of this lol. I asked how to do this!
