Bambu why is your networking so terrible?

Actually, (for your info) it was in less than 24 hours…

It’s not about you being right or wrong (I’ve been in the business long enough), it’s about your attitude towards other people who may or may not be … just saying it … I actually agree

exactly. Bambu is awesome, but needs to learn that this is not the way. now they are going on the road of makerbot’s death

my attitude towards them is that “they came in an were dismissive in a way that shows they have no idea what they’re talking about”

maybe people shouldn’t comment when they have no freaking qualifications to do so.

but i guess “knowing what they’re talking about” is too high of expectations for people.

Again, the irony of you saying this.

I see that gatekeeping is your thing. This is a public community forum. Everyone gets to add their input even if you don’t agree with it.

nope, it is not gatekeeping to expect people not to speak about things they don’t understand.

One shouldn’t pretend to be an expert, or speak authoritatively on something when they aren’t reasonably certain. I think everyone would agree with that.

But everyone has different levels of understanding. How does one decide if they know “enough” to comment on anything, based on your rules? This sounds ridiculous… asking everyone to shut it, unless they feel they’re an expert on a topic?

I don’t know why you seem so angry all the time. Letting everyone speak freely, and then politely correcting someone when they’re mistaken is the only practical approach.

Because people being dismissive of concerns they don’t understand, then arguing with you and ignoring half of the explanation is extremely rude and I lost patience with it a long time ago. I’m sick of people thinking they can behave like that. I’m sick and tired of people arguing with experts when they themselves are not an expert. The absolute hubris of people to go “nah you don’t need that <reasons that show they don’t even understand the topic>” is offensive.

let me reiterate the part of them not even paying attention to half of your argument/explanation. You can read this thread and see it happen repeatedly. That type of behavior merits a rude response, not continued engagement.

Incorrect. You are required to be respectful of the the other people in the forum as per the guidelines. If you are unable to follow these guidelines please look for another place where directly being rude is accepted.

https://forum.bambulab.com/guidelines

And you consider “Coming in and dismissing someone’s concerns out of hand while showing you don’t understand them in the slightest” is civil?

What I consider is that if someone comes in with assumed and incorrect information, and does not want to listen to other people who may know more than them, it is not my problem.

None of us have the job of making sure other people are right in this forum, none of us are the arbiters of truth. Let them be wrong, if they’re being disrespectful then flag the post and move on if you are uncapable of having a calm reaction. Reacting with directed negativity is literally the worst decision you can make and will eventually get you deservedly banned from the forum, this goes for everyone, not just you.

I understand getting frustrated when you read something that you believe is stupid, or incorrect, or dismissive, (I am also easily set off by similar things) but reacting with uncivility out of spite isn’t the right choice, not here at least

It’s not “out of spite” it’s out of “they should know better than to open their mouths on subjects they don’t even know the basics on, and when someone who does explains further to them they shouldn’t double down on their hubris”

yes, yes i know. tilting at windmills. people will continue to live down to the Dunning-Kruger curve.

I’m sorry but people are fully allowed to double down on what they believe is correct. It may be frustrating and your personal values may heavily conflict with this, and that is 100% valid (I’m not trying to tell you that you shouldn’t feel that way). But there is no real obligation for anyone here to have any sort of real knowledge for what they post. You can be sure that the people who DO know what they’re talking about are probably rolling their eyes or similarly getting frustrated, but that’s how it goes in a public forum, you will always have people that refuse to listen and learn. This is a place for them as much as it is for you and me, as long as they follow the guidelines (And again, if they don’t? Flag it, a few flags from people will hide the post pending further investigation and remove it from the discussion).

Bear in mind that most people DO want to learn and improve, and are willing to listen to people who have more experience

There should be, it’s extremely offensive for people who have no idea what they’re talking about to come in an dismiss the opinion of an expert on a topic. Especially when they demonstrate their total lack of knowledge in the very statement they are being dismissive in.

I think this should not just be a rule for the forum, i think it should be a rule for society. People should have the honesty, self reflection and awareness to not open their mouths and argue with experts when they are not an expert. People doing that is literally killing people of measles right now. Their ignorance is not as good as someone else’s expertise. People opening their mouths and spewing nonsense that demonstrates they don’t even understand the subject should be met with ridicule from the community, not defense.

that’s not true, not even remotely. borne out by both experience and actual research.

i can pretty easily tell the difference between someone who is willing to learn, and someone who is lashing out because “how dare you criticize my favorite brand!”/“how dare you imply something is an issue when i don’t experience a problem let me continue basking in my ignorance”

I understand where you are coming from, I do. But again, lashing out at these people is not the answer, it only reinforces their misconceptions. I hope you can move forward more calmly in regards to this, but 仕方ない, you aren´t my problem

I see their behavior as an uncivil attack, but society is all about enabling them.

What is the point even of this topic anymore? All I can say is that it’s plenty fast for what it needs to do. Timelapse is super smooth and sending files is a breeze (compared to my very slow A1).

Happy printing :joy:

Not that anyone asked, but I tried plugging in a USB Ethernet Adapter, and it does absolutely nothing. The TX/RX LEDs don’t even light up.

they didn’t put USB networking device class drivers (it’s a generic driver) into their OS.

Why is it that some people are so incapable of understanding “just because it works fine for me” doesn’t mean “it’s fine”

slash

you’re just saying “just because i don’t understand the issue means it isn’t an issue” as if you’re the center of the universe.

why are you that way? why can’t you accept that you don’t know things other people know? why can’t you just shrug and move on? Why are you incapable of understanding “other people can have a problem i don’t have”?
