Bambulab Laser vs. xTool

Being silly, I bought an F2 Ultra UV today

So I’ll be happy to report back soon on how it handles different types of plastic. ^^

I’m soooo jealous.
That would be cool. thanks.

When you say the F1 is too hot for plastics, how does text and engraving look on stuff like PETG?
Yes the F2 will be a lot better, but I’m curious as to it the results of the F1 as well.

With 465nm (blue) and 1063nm (infrared) it highly depends on the COLOR of the plastic. On most of them, you will see nothing. It just melts with too much power.

Ah man I almost bought one today too (last day of their BF sale) then told myself to not be silly, the Gridfinity bins don’t need laser-d serial numbers

I have an h2d laser. I don’t have a ton of space and for the very occasional laser usage i do having a hybrid machine is great.

I cut about 8 sheets of cork last weekend. The printer smelled like a fire pit for a day, then the continuous printing aired it out. The thing had no loss of accuracy or issues.

If you need space it is wonderful. If you are worried about debris getting on the gantry or rails clean them after using the laser. If you plan to do a lot of lasering… get a dedicated machine.

I clean the inside of my lasers regularly… it’s horrible what accumulates there.

And I’m thinking less about the gantry and rails and more about the overengineered print head with its many gears and other components… Time will tell whether combining two such devices was a good idea…

Get Xtool since BBL made 3D printing and and laser in one chamber which has PROs and CONs

Xtool is cheaper (depends on what model you are getting), if everything is in the same environment in can lead to the need of buying spare parts and it takes more time to do the swap. Instead you just send the file to your Xtool and in a few minutes it is done

get the M2 Xtool its a great machine!!

I agree on that I am going to get one

Thanks for the latest replys, yes I am thinking of getting an XTool M2 on Blackfriday, they for sure got some great deals then.

Also the print on wood with the ink module and then cut it out sounds and looks awesome on the M2.

Now in summer I am more focused on my cycling and mountainbike training and racing but during the autumn and winter time I have more time for 3D printing.

The question is: I use my 3D printer and also the laser in the basement of the house, I have one window there and my pinter is in front of it, but which Air purifier should I get with it, the XTool Flagship Purifier is nice bit way to expensive :grimacing:
