I’m reaching out because my recent upload on MakerWorld—a print profile intended to help users get the best results with a particular model—was banned and flagged as a violation. The official reason given was:"Uploads must include complete, ready-to-print 3D model files. Tutorial-style content, like printing methods or parameter tips, should be shared on the official forum. We recommend making the model private or removing it. If you believe this is a mistake, you can file an appeal."Here’s the part that doesn’t make sense: The platform is full of uploads that are only printing profiles, printer settings, or G-code, some of which have thousands (literally thousands!) of downloads and tons of user engagement. These have been publicly available for months, sometimes longer, with no sign of restriction or moderation. Meanwhile, my post—created in the same spirit, and with the explicit aim of helping the community print better—gets banned right away.It’s pretty discouraging to be singled out when the rules don’t seem to be applied equally. Why is my upload a problem but all these other profile-only posts are left untouched? Am I missing something about how the moderation system works, or is there a set of unpublished rules that only apply to some users and not others?I’m all for respecting the community guidelines, but it’s hard to take them seriously when the enforcement is so inconsistent. I’d like an honest answer—will MakerWorld start taking action against all uploads that don’t include a ready-to-print model, or is this just selective moderation? Because right now, it feels pretty unfair.

So edit your upload and add a ready to print model, a benchy will do. It shows that the settings you have work. That’s the point. A post with no actual model shows nothing it’s a page of text.
Oh and MW is full of stuff that’s wrong or inconsistent and if your report stuff you spot it might get removed.

They might be choosing to enforce it now because they’re planning on introducing their own way of sharing printer/filament settings.
I am surprised that these have been allowed. Even if there is a model in one such profile, the model itself has no real value other than acting as a object for showing the print settings. The purpose of these uploads is to share print settings. MW is for sharing models.
That doesn’t mean those comply with the rules though, it just means they haven’t been reported
This would actually be pretty cool. Sometimes I’m lazy and don’t feel like calibrating filaments, even though I still do. If there was a place I could go to get verified filament profiles with proof of quality that would be great. It would be a real let down if it was flooded with default profiles with one measly change though. It would be super valuable if people uploaded completely calibrated profiles.
I’m with you. Not to mention how easily these profiles could damage someone’s printer. I’d only allow them under very specific conditions — and definitely with no point rewards. Why should anyone earn points just for sharing a printer profile? If you want to showcase it, make a YouTube video instead.

MakerWorld isn’t really the place for those and you could just share them via a git repo or something similar, or just create a website dedicated to print profiles and build a name for yourself
